Theora running on FPGA
...ution, will require a SDRAM controller. The hardware has a module to manage the access to the buffer then I think that wouldn't be difficult to do this change, but for the moment I won't do that. Others future project could be a completely hardware implementation or the integration with a nonproprietary processor. I will comment the code better and post in the SVN the quickest as possible. I will did a little movie with the video playing when I finish the integration with the VGA controller. Next step of Hardware Theora
...nts.ic.unicamp.br/~ra031198/integration_processor.JPG We will need to compile the initial part of Theora in a processor and after to do a integration with the Hardware modules. For this, we will need to choose the processor. Stratix II (FPGA Altera) have a good support to NIOS. The alternative of a nonproprietary processor could be the LEON, but I think it maybe demand pretty much work to do run. 2 - To do a SDRAM controller. http://www.students.ic.unicamp.br/~ra031198/sdram_controller.JPG I think it is most important of all the tasks, because the current theora hardware can just have a maximum resolution...

NFSv4 ACLs.
Right now, FreeBSD supports one type of ACLs - so called POSIX.1e ACLs. They are natural extension of the traditional Unix permissions, and for a long time were the only nonproprietary ACL type in Unix systems. Times change, and now there are several problems with them: they never actually become standard (the draft they are based on was withdrawn); this results in minor incompatibilities related to e.g. umask handling; they don't fit into Windows or NFSv4 security model, wh...

Justifying R to anti open-source management
Hi I apologise for this question as it really must be a FAQ. Unfortunately, I can't find the answer and I'm tired of looking at endless google results A colleague of mine works for a state government department that has a policy against open source software or software tainted by open source. Other government departments in the same state use R but this particular department is driven
