Help!!! Windows XP Joining Samba 2.2.2 Domain
Okay, I'm at the end of my amazing internet research skills, and now I'm having to offer this problem up to the mailing lists. In a fit of stupidity I've just upgraded my machine from 98 to XP (purely for research ;), and now I need to add it to the domain. My root user on the Linux box running samba is called guB~b1n5 and the Linux box is configured to use PAM and SSL, I've

Addition - Help!!! Windows XP Joining Samba 2.2.2 Domain
Have also now changed the root username back to root to see if that helped (although it doesn't cause any problems with any other applications), but it does now mean that I get the same error message using the root user as I do using the user seri: The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "HOME": Access is denied. I have also added the line nt acl support = no to

SIP and ECHO
...e (Budgettone-100) and the 4 FXS ports everything sounds great. If I call out to the PSTN through the FXO cards I get horrible echo, I have even been able when talking loud enough to get a horrible feedback loop going. I have tried 4 different echo cancellers in the Makefile for the Zap drivers and nonoe of them changed the situation. I have echocancel = (Any where from 1 - 256, I have tried alot of different values), and I have echocanelwhenbridged = yes.I only hear the echo start when the call gets bridged onto the outgoing PSTN lines. Is there anything I can do? Brian J. Schrock

CentOS 4 and SATA RAID
There have been several threads about SATA in the past weeks and the problems with it. I'm still not clear, though, if SATA in general is a problem or just specific functionality or hardware. Do I understand correctly that "mainboard built-in" SATA RAID is a nono on CentOS? That I would need a third-party RAID card for this? What about SATA non-RAID or SATA2? Is SATA supposed to

(performance) time in Windows vs Linux
Hi, all. I began to migrate my R codes from Windows to Linux and surprised me with an old question. I simplified the problem and made a little test to compare times at same computer and the Linux time is worse (not so little) than Windows time: 28 vs 53 seconds. I make an example (below) to facilitate all to see the difference. I also build from source (it's my first time) a version of R to

Banging my head on wall (hosts)
Ok, so I figured I''d move this here since IRC isn''t the place for it. Ok, so I have my 40ish servers. Of those, 36 or so of them have hosts entries that need to look like this: 127.0.0.1 localhost 172.x.x.x dbprod1.xxx.com dbprod1 172.x.x.x mgmt01.xxx.com mgmt01 puppet certmaster 172.x.x.x mybox.xxx.com mybox Where mybox is the name of the box. The others have a few

Gantt chart problem after upgrade to R 2.4.0
I am having a problem with a gantt chart since moving to R2.4.0. from 2.3.1 I made some adaptations to the code from http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=74 and successful produced a simple gantt chart. However when I upgraded to 2.4.0 it no longer works as desired. See http://ca.geocities.com/jrkrideau/R/gantproblem.pdf for the two charts. The charts were produced

How to return a big treelike list from .Call Interface (protect stack overflow)
I try to create a big treelike list structure using the RDefines/RInternal macros. The tree carries information at each node (attribute list) and at each leaf (vector). My understanding is that for each node I add to the binary tree I have to call PROTECT(newnode = NEW_LIST(2)); and cannot UNPROTECT before I return the whole tree. Same story for node attributes and leaf vectors. However, this

How to give system and virtual users their own mail_location?
Hi all. Now hopefully as a new thread because I still have this question. Apologies to Geert and Timo for my misbehaviour...(repling to the list and changing the subject). I hace Dovecot rc12 working on Mandriva 2007.0 now for system accounts and virtual accounts both imap and imaps can be used. Th problem now is that I cannot use both types of user at the same time. The 'mail_location =

H323 to H323 bridging ... failed ... also with chan_local
Hi, I am using Asterisk 1.2.9.1, with chan_h323. The problem I am coming across is when trying to bridge an incoming H323 call with another H323 call: phone1 dials into asterisk with H323, for extension 111 in asterisk: exten => 111, 1, Dial(chan_h323, H323/111@phone2) (in my extensions.conf the syntax is good ... this is no). I can see how the first call is partially processed, then the

ctdb, samba and WINS
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I'm in the progress of setting up clustered samba with ctdb. Samba is ADS-member server. WINS server is configured on two of our 2003-servers. When samba runs for a couple of hours I checked the WINS servers and saw that samba/nmbd registrred only the private interface addresses (192.168.1.x) and not the public interfaces (10.0.0.41,42).

still no nut at reboot
Greetings; I have attempted to add the nut startup strings into my /etc/rc.local file, but with the new nono-serialized boot used by many distros today, I cannot see the startup and its error messages if any because the xserver is already started and that hide the messages. All I know is that it will not even show the driver in an htop report once booted. So, taking another tack, I have

[LLVMdev] llvm memory barrier as a builtin
Hi Luke, What you say makes sense but I'm not sure it is a good way to go. If we are using a gcc function name __sync_synchronize, I generally feel like we should support it with exactly the same signature and not try to extend it. Otherwise, it might lead to some confusion in the future unless they also plan to extend it the same way. -- Mon Ping On Sep 17, 2008, at 1:14 PM,

Column renaming
Dear all, Is there a less cumbersome way to rename a column by name (as opposed to index) than -- names( X)[ names[ X] == "bob"]<-"sue" ? A semi-related question: how does one get the index of a column by name, something along the lines of col.index( X, "sue") ? [patch V3 24/37] sched: highmem: Store local kmaps in task struct
Instead of storing the map per CPU provide and use per task storage. That prepares for local kmaps which are preemptible. The context switch code is preparatory and not yet in use because kmap_atomic() runs with preemption disabled. Will be made usable in the next step. The context switch logic is safe even when an interrupt happens after clearing or before restoring the kmaps. The kmap index in
