Nonfunctional linux/CIFS mounts after update (ADS / windows DC auth)
I think I'm having the exact same issue using sssd. All symptoms described by Patrick exists in my system except for the .com thing. I haven't tried it yet. Using ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS, samba 4.3.8-Ubuntu, sssd 1.12.5-1~trusty1 -JGC > > -----Original Message----- > From: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] On Behalf Of Glomski, > Patrick > Sent: Tuesday, April

html manual files nonfunctional
R help.start() opens a web browser as expected, but the ?Manual? html links are dead (although the ?Reference? and ?Miscellaneous Materials? html links do work). I get a similar problem from within RStudio. I?d like to get pointy-clicky html manuals working, to help migrate users from SAS to R. I do see R manuals on this system from the EPEL R rpm's in info and pdf form, for example at

"Only users" seems nonfunctional
L.S., Excerpt from my smb.conf on Samba 2.2.5: [global] ... security = share ... [BenD] public = no guest ok = no user = bzt only user = yes path = <...> writeable = yes browseable = yes printable = no ... Now, according to the manpage for smb.conf, I should only be able to log in and use service BenD as user bzt. Nevertheless, I can log in as any user as long as I know the password.

ssh freezes
All too often, my ssh session will freeze. I'm fairly certain the problem is at my end. None of the tilde commands work. In particular, ~# and ~. are nonfunctional. I can write to ssh's terminal window from another terminal window. If I kill the ssh process, I can ssh in again. The next time it happens, I will try another ssh session without killing the first one. dmesg did not show me

Nonfunctional linux/CIFS mounts after update (ADS / windows DC auth)
Greetings, We use samba to share files to windows and linux machines and are in the same boat as several others recently posting to the list. When badlock patches came out, we updated our CentOS7 samba server (everything from samba to sssd to krb5 to nss was updated) and immediately had problems with both client types not connecting to the windows shares. Windows machine connections were solved

latest skype (version 8.16.0.4) on Centos 7
Hi all! I've finally been reduced to having to install Skype on my Linux box. I resisted for years, but now ended up trying it. and while the latest RPM installs just fine, it refuses to acknowledge that I have a microphone! In fact I have two: 1 in the USB web cam (it finds the cam), the second in a Plantronics USB headset, which works fine but not with skype. it is as if it doesn't

Nonfunctional linux/CIFS mounts after update (ADS / windows DC auth)
I have been running in loglevel 10 and looking at the logs, but as I said in my initial post the credentials function fine with nautilus. Appended is a connection log snippet where samba walks through a cascade of authentication methods and finally fails. Earlier in the log, samba successfully determines which domain controller to talk to and pulls its information. However, just before the

Bug report for package foreign anf functon write.foreign
...names to conform to eight-character limit and not ending in a digit" that show the limit is still 8 characters. By looking at the script at https://github.com/cran/foreign/blob/master/R/writeForeignSAS.R , I realized that the line 39, in the function make.SAS.formats, can be the reason of the nonfunctioning argument : "if(any(nchar(x) > 8L) || any(duplicated(x)))" which is correct if the length of the variable has a limit of 8, but it does not take in consideration when the limit is at 32 defined by validvarnames = "V7". A solution can be to add the argument validvarname in the...

timeout error on file transfer
Hi, The following is with the latest (and last) puppetmaster/puppetd on FC5. I use puppet to configure a server and several workstations on my home network. This includes managing several files of >5Mbyte on the workstations. I have had problems recently with timeout errors on some of these files. These errors seem consistent for a particular puppet setup/configuration, but can change when

CentOS 7.2 laptop wireless Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (rev c4)
With CentOS 7.2 a laptop wireless card is recognized in dmesg, but nonfunctional. Toggling the hardware wifi switch causes the Bluetooth icon to appear and disappear. The network configuration window shows the Wireless tab greyed out. Rebooting with the bluetooth enabled does not help. It appears the appropriate driver is iwlwifi, which is what works in Fedora and appears to be available and

Re: Compiling the MFC using Winelib
Well, from my recent experience with Winelib, I can tell you this: Winemaker currently sucks, and the makefiles it creates are nonfunctional and you'll have to redo them by hand anyway. Yeah. If I knew anything about how to fix it I just might be tempted to do so :) Thanks, Scott Ritchie On Sat, 2005-01-22 at 13:19 -0800, Dan Dennison wrote: > Building MFC for winelib has been
