Malloc debug kills asterisk?
Hi- In trying to track down a possible memory leak in asterisk, I've discovered that the "show memory allocations" command crashes asterisk (causes it to stop handling calls, although it doesn't seg fault). The related "show memory summary" works however. Before I post this to the bugs list, can someone else please confirm this problem? You need to enable malloc

I wrote a GUI front-end for syslinux windows version
Hi all, I developed a GUI front-end for syslinux on Windows for easy making of live usb. It's released under GNU GPL. http://people.linux.org.tw/~pcman/SysLinuxSetup.zip Putting this with syslinux.exe and syslinux.com can make the installation safer. The program only lists removable device to the users with their icons. If there isn't, the program will prompt the user to insert usb disk.

Problems with x2go
I have installed x2goserver on a Centos8 server. Yesterday, after the installation I was able to connect by means of x2go. Today I get the following error ( /var/log/messages) /usr/bin/x2gostartagent[2677]: no free display number available, cannot start new session. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks. Bye Stefano

hblm program: porting from Splus to R
...e to figure it out, but at least some problems seem to involve scoping rule differences. The NA coercion apparently is something else, perhaps a character being coerced to numeric? As for legal issues, I can try to contact Bill to be sure, but it seems obvious he intends the program to be in the (noncommercial) public domain. The program remains on the AT&T web site years after he left, and he seemed perfectly fine with my attempt to port it to R. At one time he had intended to develop a commercial version, but as of the last time I spoke with him (a couple of years ago) that was on permanent hold....

Steve Jobs about theora
I guess you've all read it already, but here it goes: "All video codecs are covered by patents. A patent pool is being assembled to go after Theora and other ?open source? codecs now. Unfortunately, just because something is open source, it doesn?t mean or guarantee that it doesn?t infringe on others patents. An open standard is different from being royalty free or open source. Not all of the machines I'm thinking of are critical infrastructure. We have many researchers running simulations that take weeks, sometimes months, to finish, and avoiding the occasio...
