noice sip to sip only???
i have been using the asterisk for some three weeks. Previously i was using the softphone iax-phone and now i have to shift to the sip phone xlite. The problem is that there's always unbearable noice in sip to sip calls. Is there any way to get rid of this???? Noice words...
Hi I use acts_as_ferret on an app that is in Danish and English. In Danish english words like "and" and "under" has meaning. Is it possible to make ferret search for these words? As it is now a seach for "under" returns nothing even-though I know the word is present in the index. Cheers Mattias

G.729 Codec on Dialup
hi All, We are using Asterisk server with sip phones (SJPhone). On the local LAN, when we use the SJPhone as the SIP client, communication works fine with no disturbances and noices. But when it comes to dialup connection we harldy hear anything except a rough noice. We have included G.729 Codec (Annex B) with the Asterisk server, and we added the G.729 Codec to the SJPhone too. But it seems like SJPhone is using a version of G.729 other than Codec G.729 (Annex B) , probabl...

Problems w. chan_capi + ztdummy
...rd demo setup). I am nearly updating this particular box every day and within the last couple of days something else has happened. When dialing OUT on the ISDN card everything works fine. When someone dial IN through the card and connect to the internal Snom phone there is a pulsating background noice that can only be heard on the VoIP phone. From outside (the ISDN) things sound perfect - from inside you can still hear what is being said - but there is that pulsating quite high noice. Any ideas? OH323 doesnt hear ringing
...everything works fine. This is the entry from my extensions.conf: exten => _7[5-9]X,1,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN},20,rt) exten => _7[5-9]X,2,Playback(vm-nobodyavail) exten => _7[5-9]X,3,Hangup I assume that because I havr the 'r' in the dial string, the calling party should hear a ringing noice. NOP pattern - how to make SPEEX packets bigger?
How can I add some size to SPEEX encoded packets without affecting decoding results? I need it to fit smaller (due to VAD) packets in CBR acm-wav file. i.e. I have 10 bytes packet with 0.02s of silence (only background noice without speech). I need to fit it in 16kbps CBR wav file, so I need to put 30 additional bytes to this packets, but decoder should still decode only 0.02s of background noice.

Static noise and server locked when using two 4FXO tdm400p pci cards
Hello all We have tested for a mounth or two an asterisk PBX using one T1 channel bank with 24 fxs and one TDM400P digium card with 4 FXO modules. This worked with minor problems, the most notorious being some sporadic static noice or failure in the first FXO module on the wildcard. Now we have a client with 12 pstn lines and 48 extensions and we are trying to deploy an Asterisk PBX server using two(x24)channel banks (Access Bank 1) an three TDM400P pci cards with 4 FXO each. But when we use more that one TDM400P card, aft...

Silence supression
...information on how to disable this on SIP clients. Since this is a problem that arises somewhere between the SIP provider and the asterisk box, I am lost. Is there any way to get around this in the asterisk configuration, or is it simply that the SIP provider itself is refusing to transmit comfort noice? Best timing source?
...y all experience the problem. Calls between extensions, from or to the E1, from or to trunks. The only scenario left to try is connecting calls only via the E1 so we completely eliminate the network side of things and se if we get the same behaviour. During calls you can hear some background noice and interruptions in the voice. DTMF fails when we try to dial to external IVR. I do not really believe that the fault is in the Asterisk server but I have to eliminate all posibilities on my side before I can lay blame on the network infrastructure. I was also just wondering if DAHDI...

The dudes and dudettes that proudly contributes by reporting everything from simple spelling errors to crashes and strange noices from their Asterisk boxes. This is quite a large code change, but not as large a functional change. However, it...

[LLVMdev] [Polly] Update of Polly compile-time performance on LLVM test-suite

Though I am surprised to also see performance regressions. They are all in very shortly executing kernels, so they may very well be measuring noice. Is this really the case? Also, it may be interesting to compare against the non-polly case to see how much overhead there is still due to our scop detetion. > The "Polly-opt" case is used to compare the whole compile-time > performance of Polly. Weird noise problem on SIP transfers...
...main one and 2 others have ADSL VPNs with a total of 12 handsets. So they can call each other internally and the sound quality is fine. An incoming call from the analogue lines sounds fine, as does an incoming call from an IAX trunk. But sometimes, when they transfer a call, they get a lot of noice/hiss after the transfer. It's heard by both the new person and the original caller, and I can't work out where it's coming from. I have heard it myself when I dialled in on an IAX trunk and the first person I spoke with was clear as a G711 clear thing, but when it was transfered, b...

GPG 1.0.3 doesn't detect modifications to files with multiple signatures
...rol packets send to gpg over the normal input, the faked packets are now tagged with a random string during creation and the packet parser code accepts this control packet only when it contains this tag. This problem has been in GnuPG since the beginning but Jim's seems to be the first one who noiced that. We need better auditing folks! This bug is just one more prove that "given enough eyeballs all bugs are shallow" can not be held true when it comes to the security bugs; well, the bugs are probably found faster - but most times only be coincedence. BTW, I'd would have apprec...
