anova subhypotheses
Hello all, A really noddy question for you all: I''m trying without success to do some subhypothesis testing. Using simple anova model, with a toy dataset from a book. I have four factors A,B,C,D, and wish to test mu_C = mu_D. This is what I have tried: > contrasts(infants$group,how.many=1) <- c(0,0,1,-1) > contrasts(infants$group) [,1] A 0 B 0 C 1

Mechanize and file_column
Hi all, Has anyone successfully used WWW::Mechanize with file_column? I''m trying to upload a bunch of images to a custom controller, and something''s going wrong with the parameter names. Using a noddy controller :create action that looks like this: def create render :text => params.inspect end I get this result from a manual upload from a form:

CMENU file handling problems.
I'm writing something that's based on Murali Krishnan Ganapathy's CMENU system, except mine's driven by a menu.txt file that I supply (mostly so I can edit the menu.txt wherever I happen to be and so I won't need a syslinux build environment everytime the menu structure changes). I'm able to build up menus that do what I expect, so that's good. However, I want to be

two-way communication using Unix pipes
Hello, I am trying to communicate with R from a perl program. Because this code must be deployed on systems that are outside of my control I do not wish to pursue the RSperl.pm approach which requires that R be compiled to use shared libraries. I have a custom, light weight module I have used with other command line driven programs like Ferret and Grads. This module follows the standard perl

XP client awfully slow
Hi all, please excuse my posting what is probably an FAQ, but getting the mail archives is excruciatingly slow (~70 bytes/sec). I have an XP professional box attached to a Samba server. It works ok-ish (I can actually access everything) but everything is painfully slow. Attaching a network drive takes at least 10 seconds, sometimes longer. Word takes AGES to load (> 15 seconds before anything

Using server side phonebook directory with SPA941
Hello list, I got a couple of those "wouldn't it be great questions", as following: 1. Is it possible, with asterisk to hold a central phonebook directory of callers?, so that when this party calls a "textual" caller ID will be displayed on the phone display. 2. How can this be configured with Trixbox, I've looked at the configuration options - I assume it plays no

Basic help with imports and includes
Do any of you good people have a moment to help me out with my basic Puppet language skills, I''m a little new around here and getting an error I don''t yet understand. I have an RHEL4 Puppetmaster happily controlling the permissions of /etc/sudoers on an RHEL5 and SolarisX86 client. My actual environment consists of several systems in several locations. All systems need the

[PATCH 00/28] libxl: ocaml: improve the bindings
The following series of patches fill in most of the gaps in the OCaml bindings to libxl, to make them useful for clients such as xapi/xenopsd (from XCP). There are a number of bugfixes to the existing bindings as well. I have an experimental version of xenopsd that successfully uses the new bindings. An earlier version of the first half of the series was submitted to the last by Ian Campbell on
