[rfc/patch] use hvc for xen console
Hi,
Here is a patch (on top of the paravirt patch queue) which makes xen
guests use the hvc_console.c infrastructure for the console, thereby
greatly reducing the amount console code. xvc0 is gone too, hvc0 is
used instead.
cheers,
Gerd

[PATCH v2 00/12] gendisk: Generate uevent after attribute available
The race condition is noticed between disk_add() and disk attributes, on
virtio-blk hotplug.
Userspace listens to the KOBJ_ADD uevent generated in add_disk(). At that
point we haven't created the serial attribute file, therefore depending
on how fast udev reacts, the /dev/disk/by-id/ entry doesn't always get
created.
As pointed out by Christoph Hellwig in the specific fix [1], virtio-blk

xen: Make hvc0 the preferred console in domU
This makes the Xen console just work. Before, you had to ask for it
on the kernel command line with console=hvc0

[PATCH 00/15] Fix issue with KOBJ_ADD uevent versus disk attributes
This is an attempt to fix the issue that some disks' sysfs attributes are not
ready at the time its KOBJ_ADD event is sent.
The symptom is during device hotplug, udev may fail to find certain attributes,
such as serial or wwn, of the disk. As a result the /dev/disk/by-id entries are
not created.
The cause is device_add_disk emits the uevent before returning, and the callers
have to create

[patch 00/24] Xen-paravirt_ops: Xen guest implementation for paravirt_ops interface
Hi Andi,
This patch series implements the Linux Xen guest as a paravirt_ops
backend. The features in implemented this patch series are:
* domU only
* UP only (most code is SMP-safe, but there's no way to create a new vcpu)
* writable pagetables, with late pinning/early unpinning
(no shadow pagetable support)
* supports both PAE and non-PAE modes
* xen hvc console (console=hvc0)

[PATCH 00 of 38] xen: add more Xen dom0 support
Hi Ingo,
Here''s the chunk of patches to add Xen Dom0 support (it''s probably
worth creating a new xen/dom0 topic branch for it).
A dom0 Xen domain is basically the same as a normal domU domain, but
it has extra privileges to directly access hardware. There are two
issues to deal with:
- translating to and from the domain''s pseudo-physical addresses and
real machine

[PATCH 00/25] xen: Xen implementation for paravirt_ops
Hi Andi,
This series of patches implements the Xen paravirt-ops interface.
It applies to 2.6.21-rc7 + your patches + the last batch of pv_ops
patches I posted.
This patch generally restricts itself to Xen-specific parts of the tree,
though it does make a few small changes elsewhere.
These patches include:
- some helper routines for allocating address space and walking pagetables
- Xen
