Asterisk hangs up SIP call after 6 200 retransmits
I have the following scenario:
PSTN gateway (202.180.nnn.nnn) -> OpenSER 1.0.1 (147.202.nnn.nnn) -> Asterisk 1.2.16
(203.89.nnn.nnn)
When an incoming call is received, often (but not always) Asterisk repeatedly sends a SIP 200 OK message and eventually hangs up the call.

Extensions will not go to voicemail
I have a remote installation that connects via IAX from my office pbx.
When I call an extension on the remote pbx, after the dial period, the
call is terminated. Nothing I do in configuration of that extension
seems to matter:

pxelinux.0 fails when ip address matchs nnn.nnn.nnn.n0n.
...hat happened
was that the NIC requested the correct IP address (130.246.182.101)
from the DHCP.
pxelinux.0 printed out that the hosts IP was
82F6B665, 130.246.182.11
While the hex number is correct the IP address is wrong and 0 was
stripped out. This happened for all other hosts matching nnn.nnn.nnn.n0n.
We were using
default linux
label linux
kernel lcfg/kernelboot-2.4.20-20.7
ipappend 1
append root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=....
This then caused a failure since the ipappend put a ip= with the wrong
address on the kernel.

Iax and ZAP
I have a working system with two fxo and two fxs channels. I recenlty got an IAX2 account I would like to use also.
While I have gotten the IAX2 channel to "register", it remains non functional, as the incoming calls, go nowhere and the outgoing calls attempt to go out over the ZAP channel. I can see this, via the CLI, with debugs on.
I strongly suspect this is a dial plan/config

runs of heads when flipping a coin
Can someone recommend a method to answer the following type of question:
Suppose I have a coin with a probability hhh of coming up heads (and 1-hhh
of coming up tails)
I plan on flipping the coin nnn times (for example, nnn = 500)
What is the expected probability or frequency of a run of rrr heads* during
the nnn=500 coin flips?
Moreover, I would probably (excuse the pun) want the answer for a range of
rrr values, for example rrr = 0:50
Of course I am more interested in an analytical solution...

Software bridge setup in RHEL 5/CentOS 5 questions, possible bug.
I have a question about software bridge setup (initscripts).
If one sets up a bridge network:

proper magic using brutil is done EXCEPT it does not put the NICs into

Invalid seqno and short packets

I just upgraded my entire environment from Tinc 1.0.24 (or prior) to the
