distance between phylogenetic trees (quartet, NNI)
Hi all, I want to calculate distances between phylogenetic trees. I found functions for symmetric difference (e.g. in ape and in some other packages). In addition to this I also want to calculate quartets and nearest neighbor interchange distances; are there any functions for this? My apologies if they exist and I overlooked. best regards

system time problems
i have an NT share drive mounted on a linux machine. i want to compile an application on the mounted NT drive from linux. this works okay, but the oddities of the file dates on the share causes all of the sources to be recompiled on make even when they don't need to be. the times come up correctly, but, i assume that NT does not support year, the year field is odd (1947, 2013, etc.). what can

Manipulation of longitudinal data by row
I have a dataset of the form below, consisting of one unique ID per row, followed by a series of visit dates. At each visit there are values for 3 dichotomous variables. Of the 8 different possible combinations of the three variables, 4 are "abnormal" and the remaining 4 are "normal". How to authenticate to CVS via Winbind?
Hi! As a Samba newbie I have a big problem getting my Win2000 Server PDC users to authenticate to CVS/SSH on my samba 2.2.3a-12.3 debian woody machine. The linux server is member of the Windows Domain, and users can login via the network neighbourhood and their domain passwords (style: DOMAIN\user). wbinfo -u gives me all the known Domain users, so I think winbind is working correctly... .travis.yml ... most likely included in error
Hi Spencer, To get rid of the .travis.yml note add a .Rbuildignore file with this line: ^\.travis\.yml$ This will exclude the file from the build. The build is failing because of a warning. As noted in the log, Travis is treating a warning as an error: Found warnings, treating as errors It's a bit hard to find the warning in the logs because of all the pdfTeX output but it's a warning
