For folks who want samba-3.6.0 for RHEL 5 or 6, and would prefer to have RHEL compatible layouts rather than the somewhat different layouts of the packages at http://ftp.samba.org/pub/samba/Binary_Packages/, I've published some .spec files and patches at https://github.com/nkadel/samba-3.6.0-srpm I'm happy to walk through how to build these with "mock" to get very clean packages for your particular distribution. They're backported from the samba-3.6.0 for Fedora, and compile and pass at least testing on RHEL 5 and RHEL 6 with i386 and x86_64 environments....

Hi everyone, I've posted some updated source and binary rpms following the release of updates by the samba project. Updated rpms include samba-4.10.6 and ldb-1.5.5. ...to 4.8.8 and I noticed that I needed to add a new (not in 4.8.7) dependency to my spec file: %{_libdir}/samba/libcmdline-contexts-samba4.so (not too sure in which rpm to add that one but I guess I'll see how it goes). Where's your samba-4.8.x spec rpms tree?
