...x.samba cache of the list and am still stuck.
A bit of background... I have set up a Windows 2003 server as a domain
controller here and configured it to be the DNS for a ficticious domain
for internal use only. The domain functional level is Windows 2003. I
am calling the domain "windomain.nist.gov" and have set up the Win2003
server to do DNS and AD authentication for the "windomain" domain.
I have a Redhat 7.3 machine on my desk that I wanted to add to the AD
domain and do authentication to it using winbind. I uninstalled the

NIST StRD linear regression
NIST maintains a repository of Statistical Reference Datasets at

datasets to compare R's results to their references with the hope that
if all works well, this could become a validation package.
All the linear regression dataset...

How to configure Dovecot to disable NIST's curves and still rertain EECDH?
I am interested in configuring Dovecot's TLS so as to retain forward
secrecy, but eliminate all of NIST's elliptic curves.
Besides being subject to side channel attacks [1], in some quarters
there is a general distrust of NIST's curves and any of their other
cryptographic primitives after the Dual EC DRBG debacle.

ntpdate issues?
Hi, I''m trying to run ntpdate from domain zero and getting
weird results. This used to work (prior to using xen). Is
this related to xen at all or an entirely unrelated issue?
Queries seem to work:

UseR! 2010 - my impressions
Dear UseRs!,
Everything about UseR! 2010 was terrific! I really mean "everything" - the tutorials, invited talks, kaleidoscope sessions, focus sessions, breakfast, snacks, lunch, conference dinner, shuttle services, and the participants. The organization was fabulous. NIST were gracious hosts, and provided top notch facilities. The rousing speech by Antonio Possolo, who is the chief of Statistical Engineering Division at NIST, set the tempo for the entire conference. Excellent invited lectures by Luke Tierney, Frank Harrell, Mark Handcock, Diethelm Wurtz, Uwe Ligge...

FIPS186-3 and NIST SP800-57 support
Hello,
I saw from OpenSSH man pages that the DSA key length must be 1024 bytes
(according to the standard FIPS 186-2).
According to the FIPS186-3 and NIST SP800-57, DSA key length could be
greater than 1024 bytes (2048, 3072).
Will OpenSSH be compliant with this new standard?
If yes, could you share with me the delivery plan of OpenSSh version
implementing FIPS186-3/NIST SP800-57 standard?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards

Help: NIST Net or NetEm ?
...with two network cards. I have directly connected two eth0, and I
am trying to figure out how connect two eth1 to control the properties
of this connection, so that I can study the TCP on multiple different
paths (different in terms of latency, bandwidth, etc). I know two
possible choices:
1. Use NIST Net. Put a third machine as a gateway between two eth1,
install NIST Net on this machine so as to control the property of this
path, and use TEQL at end nodes to send packets to both paths.
Questions: How to configure TEQL when there is a gateway (I only found
examples with two direct connections)?...

"net lookup sid" fails to get user's domain
When I run the following "net lookup sid" command, I get:
# net lookup sid S-1-5-21-1908027396-2059629336-315576832-12220
S-1-5-21-1908027396-2059629336-315576832-12220 1 (User) \fhess
This is wrong in that "\fhess" should be "NIST\fhess". The other direction
works fine:
# net lookup name "NIST\fhess"
S-1-5-21-1908027396-2059629336-315576832-12220 1 (User) NIST\fhess
wbinfo works fine in both directions:
# wbinfo -s S-1-5-21-1908027396-2059629336-315576832-12220
NIST\fhess 1
# wbinfo -n "NIST\fhess&q...

How to configure Dovecot to disable NIST's curves and still rertain EECDH?
My opinion is that security by RFC is not security, it's mommy medicine.
Standards have had a terrible time keeping up with security realities.
NITS's curves leak side channel information all over the place. I don't
have details on what implementations are set to calculate the NIST
curves in constant time, and that's not an easy feat to do anyway so I
don't want to depend on implementations that say they are actually doing
it the right way. Frankly I can't be bothered to keep up with that.
There are better curves TODAY, so yes I intend to use them if I can find...

[LLVMdev] Compiler Benchmarks
FYI,
Yesterday's Slashdot had an article about Linux compiler benchmarks from
Coyote Gulch (Scott Ladd). In this update he compares GCC and ICC. You
can read the article here:
http://www.coyotegulch.com/reviews/linux_compilers/
Of particular note was his use of SciMark 2.0 which is a NIST developed
benchmark for scientific computing. Its available in both java and C and
computes a MFLOPS number. It would be good to include this in our test
suite if we can (hint, hint, John). You can find it here:
http://math.nist.gov/scimark2/index.html
