rsync hangs, leaves defunct process
Hello, I'm experiencing a weird problem which I haven't been able to track down for 8+ weeks now. Situation is as follows: There is a nigthly backup from our main server to a backup server. The server base directory is mounted there read-only via NFS. Then we do something like this: 1. Duplicate the contents of yesterday's backup into /sicherungen/2007/02/02/01.41/ 2. Rsync the server directory against that with the followin...

help to find or fix a SMAPE (Symmetric mean absolute percentage error ) with correction to avoid zero value in the series
Dear Researchers, I am looking for a library or a function to calculate SMAPE with same doneminator to avoid a problem to the presence of 0 values in the series. I find this variotion of SMAPE called mSMAPE mSMAPE page 13 http://www.stat.iastate.edu/preprint/articles/2004-10.pdf yesterday nigth i tried to create a function but without a good result. For this reason I wish to know if some reserchers develop a solution to avoid the possibility of an inflation of sMAPE caused by zero values in the series. Thanks in advance Gianni # this is my mSMAPE function but there is some problem SMA...

'dialer' application to trigger call between hardphone and number
Does anyone know of a small lightweight windows 'dialer' application I can use to trigger a call (via call file or AMI) from any application? (The call would be placed between the target number, and the preconfigured DN of the hardphone at the user's desk) Ideally a phone number would be 'selected' from within any windows application and the call would be triggered via

issues with batch mode for incremental backups
...e original exit status 24 ("Partial transfer due to vanished source files") than 23 ("Partial transfer due to error"), which sound scary. I am relieved to find that my backups seem to be usable. But I had to go all the way to the bleeding edge of rsync to achieve this. Do the nigthly builds tend to be reliable? The next thing I wanted to address is that restoring batch files was slow. The main reason is that I used the --link-dest option when creating the backup. (--link-dest is pretty integral to my on-line backup strategy because I give it multiple times, linking snapsho...
