puppetdb = rise in exection expired notices?
...ollection/exports (basically collect from 90% of there hosts
and export to the same 90%).
mysql seemed to deal with this fine...
I''m hesitant to tune puppetdb in terms of threads and heap size, as
both of those SEEM okay right now...would either affect collection
query time?

What syntax is this? belongs_to :Person
so when I''m reading the pick axe book second edition I don''t see
anything like the syntax you see people using in rails code.
Specifically when you see.
belongs_to :Person
has_many :Phones
etc
these are methods on ActiveRecord right?
Why is this invocation syntax never described in the Pick Axe book?
I do see things like attr_reader :some_attribute etc but you

tips/nest practices for gluster rdma?
....
So, I guess my questions are:
Is this expected/normal?
Is peering/volfile fetching always tcp based?
How should one peer nodes in a RDMA setup?
Should this be tried with only RDMA as a transport on the volume?
Are there more detailed docs for RDMA gluster coming w/ the 3.4 release?

lock SIP Account after too many failed logins
Hi!
I want to detect brute-force password hacking attacks - thus if there
are too many failed login attempts for a SIP account I want to "lock"
this account.
Does somebody have any ideas how this could be implemented?
thanks

ISDN-30 in UK
Hi,
I've just been made aware of Asterisk through the article on Slashdot. We're
a small UK company with a ISDN-30 link to the office and a Meridian (Nortel)
PBX. We're expanding and moving offices soon and I'm looking seriously at
VoIP technologies.
So starter for ten, can Asterisk interface in with ISDN-30 technology? I'm
assuming the set-up is a server sat running

Fw: [digium.com #12961] T100P as bandwidth
...I must

Has anyone configured a T100P to use a T1 strictly as bandwidth? Is there a
HOWTO somewhere? Wiki has nothing I could find. I've got plently of public
IPs I can assign to it but don't know how.
Thanks,
Matthew

Power calculation for detecting linear trend
Dear people,
I've a problem in doing a power calculation. In Fryer and Nicholson
(1993), ICES J. mar. Sci. 50: 161-168 page 164 an example is given with
the following characteristics
T=5, points in time
R=5, replicates
Var.within=0.1
q=10, a 10% increase per year
The degrees of freedom for the test are calculated as Vl=T*R-2=23 and
the non-centrality parameter Dl=4.54.

Do not hesitate to let me know if you would share the opinion that NHW is
globally better than x265 (HEVC) at high compression on rather good quality
images.Any feedback would be much appreciated!!!
Many thanks!

Rev Your (RDMA) Engines for the RDMA GlusterFest
It's that time again ? we want to test the GlusterFS 3.4 beta before
we unleash it on the world. Like our last test fest, we want you to
put the latest GlusterFS beta through real-world usage scenarios that
will show you how it compares to previous releases. Unlike the last
time, we want to focus this round of testing on Infiniband and RDMA
hardware.
For a description of how to do this, see

New to Rails/Ruby how to proceed?
Being a somewhat jaded Java programmer I''ve decided to make an
evaluation of Ruby and Rails. I''ve purchased both the Pragmatic books
(Programming Ruby, Agile Web Development with Rails) and I''d like to
get people''s opinions as to the best way to use them. When you were
learning Rails did you find that you had to read Programming Ruby

Setup of discontinuous stream demux

Question is - how does my application stream decoder tell the
ogg demux to treat my stream as discontinuous? Perhaps I've
missed something but I couldn't find a library function which
my decoder can call to do that.

Does either version 1.2 or 1.4 support UIDPLUS?
My ISP currently runs version 1.2 and I'm looking to make use of
UIDPLUS because I want to append and then move the message I've just
appended to another folder so then I need the UID in order to address
the new message.
My ISP says they have plans to upgrade to version 1.4 soon.
Do either of these versions support UIDPLUS? ie. give me the new UID
as the response to an append?
