Nfs4 with kerberos freezing system
Hello, I have a CentOS 5.2 server that exports /home on the local network for 2 users by secure nfs4 with kerberos krb5p. The clients are a notebook and a desktop pc. The following error is always reproducible on all clients. If running the clients on high load, that means for example 5 firefox windows open and connected with www pages from the internet, installing the new qt development environme...

nfs4 with Samba 4
Hi everyone Version 4.0.0alpha18-GIT-bfc7481 openSUSE 12.1 Conventional nfs4 export works fine, but I'm having trouble kerberizing it for Samba 4 for my Samba 4 users. NFS4 + SELinux
All test machines are CentOS 5.5 (RHEL subscriptions purchased). We've had NFS3 storage working fine and decided to try NFS4. We can mount an NFS4 share on our KVM host, but the SELinux file context on the mountpoint directory is magically changed from virt_image_t to nfs_t. Restorecon refuses to change it back. Adding the mount option context=system_u:object_r:virt_image_t on either server or client doesn't help (...

Unable to mount Centos 5.6 Server via nfs4 - Operation Not Permitted - MADNESS!
After getting a reasonably configured NFS4 setup working on my Scientific Linux server, I spent a majority of my evening trying to do the same with my Centos 5 box, with fruitless results. Most attempts to mount that server returns the following message: [root at sl01 log]# mount -t nfs4 192.168.15.200:/opt/company_data /mnt mo...

CentOS 5.8, xen kernel, and nfs4
G'day, I have a workstation running CentOS 5.8 with kernel 2.6.18-308.el5. This workstation needs to mount a NFS4 directory on a server (mysvr in the example below). If the computer is running the XEN kernel (uname -a reports ...2.6.18-308.el5xen), my NFS4 share is mounted but "ls" reports an error. Xen kernel: uname -a ...2.6.18-308.el5xen mount | grep mysvr mysvr:/ on /...

NFS(4) IMAP Quota
Hi *, We use nfs4 in combination with dovecot. Also (hard)quotas are used on the exports. Using the dovecot quota fs plugin things did not work at all. There were a few issues we encountered: 1. Nfs4 is not recognized. The problem is that the mount type is only checked for "nfs" and not nfs4. This was an...

ACLs in windows clients w/ GPFS
Hello list, I've got a ctdb cluster working against a GPFS cluster. I've got ACLs going and have set the default/active ACLs on my folders. The ACLs seem to be working fine, they are correctly limiting/allowing access to the said folders/files. My issue is that when using the windows client to view/change the ACLs everything goes south. When trying to view the ACLs via

nfs4 problem in CENTOS6
...t with CENTOS6! I have two machines, fileserver1 and server5. fileserver1 runs on CENTOS6 (virtualized, if this is important), server5 runs on Centos5. Both are running with the most recent updates. Server5 is a machine to store backups on. Use ACL over NFS4

I would like Windows machines accessing this folder and its sub folders to be properly restricted according to ACLs. The NFS4 server is running CentOS 5.7 and is NFS exporting an E...

nfs4 help needed
Fedora 13 is using nfs4, and there is a problem in opening files requiring OpenOffice if accessed over an nfs3 mount, so it's time to change. 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5 NFS4 race conditions?
Are there any known race conditions with 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5 x86_64 and NFS4? Today a user managed to shut down two identical Intel servers by copying a simple text file via NFS4. Reverting back to 17.1 made the error disappear. On other non-identical hardware the error was not reproducible (so it must be a combination of hardware and this special kernel revision). Anyb...

NFS4 idmap question
...e server to "nobody" to give httpd full permissions. Now I want to rebuild these systems with CentOS6 and httpd running as user "apache". The problem is how to give access to the NFS exports to these new servers while the old ones are still using the same exports. CentOS6 uses NFS4 so I was thinking to use idmap and statically map user "nobody" to local user "apache" but I can't seem to get it working. I wonder is it even possible considering that user "nobody" is a system type user? Any better ideas what I can do to give user nobody on Cen...
