[LLVMdev] liveness assertion problem in llc
Hi Jacob, At this point, I suspect there is a problem with maintaining liveness information during branch folding. Here is what I see: I have a basic block ready for branch optimization, that computes a predicate p10 on which a conditional branch depends. Notice that this is in the stage with physical registers. BB#2: derived from LLVM BB %while.cond.preheader Live Ins: %R3 %R5

[LLVMdev] indirect jumps
Hi, What kind of C/C++ high level code can generate a computed jump, such as: jmpq *%r14 or jmpq *(%r14,%rbx,8) ? I imagine that any calls (including virtual) would use something like 'call *%r14', and the above jumps are mostly from 'switch' statements. Is this correct? Anything else? Thank you, Dan

[LLVMdev] Question About Cloning Machine Basic Block
Hello, I am trying to clone a machine basic block when I ran into some issues, where I am not able to make some headway. Any of yours help is highly appreciated here: My question is about Machine Basic Block Duplication:   -          Is there a utility to clone a MachineBasicBlock in LLVM? I found utility to clone machineInstrs, but couldn’t find similar utility for MachineBasicBlock. So, I

Readahead in the nbdkit curl plugin
...read from cache as usual. Unfortunately this could slow down all pread requests, since there's no easy way in a filter to return early with the requested data. Background threads? We've avoided this in filters so far. One problem is that they don't have access to the handle or "nextops" structure. (2) Add a new readahead filter which extents all pread requests (unconditionally) but throws away the prefetched data. You would need to use this in conjunction with a cache filter or other caching layer. As Eric points out there is no way to enforce correct layering here, we...
