How do design next-gen modules, any guidelines ? a question for gurus...
...oing. They were using
$classname::{install|remove|disable|blah} to actually call an action in
their old modules. It was almost a sub class ($subclass.pp) per action.
It was easy to read and possibly to maintain.
But now Alessandro from Example42 seems to put everything back in
init.pp with his nextgen modules...
I like the idea of segregating types or action per files to avoid
mistakes during edits but at the same time I am wondering why this
change for example42, is it a limitation for parameterized classes ?
Like everybody, I''d like to write my module using the best and most
flex...

using asterisk as a mgcp <-> h.323 translator
Hi,
I havn't actually tried this yet, but would it be possible to use asterisk
as a mgcp <-> h.323 translator?
For example, I have mgcp service from Next Gen telephone company. But i only
have a h.323 phone. Would there be a way to the mgcp signalling to hit
asterisk, and then have it fire the call out h.323?
And vice versa?
Just brainstorming.

...the service recipient would
like to award the "Consortium" as a token of appreciation which will
then be shared on the following basis: 1/2rd for the owner of the
process, 1/3rd for the consortium, 1/6th for the mebers of consortium
and 1/6th for further research and encouragement to the
NextGen-<whatever> by sponsoring students education etc.
Above, of course, are my humble opinions.

PS: I am cc-ing to ilug-bom and centos so that the idea can be
thrashed out and a viable support infrastructure can be achieved
before next "couple of years".

Compiling legacy LSI megaraid drivers (Linux 2.6.11) with xen 2.0.7?
Hi all,
I''ve been using Xen for a while and I am trying to install it onto a
Dell Poweredge 2950. The 2850 uses a PERC4/Di raid on motherboard,
which requires the LSI Legacy SCSI Raid driver to be compiled into the
2.6.11-xen0 kernel. I''ve been recompiling the kernel by:
1. Go into the linux-2.6.11-xen0 directory. Select the driver using
"make ARCH=xen

Re-inventing the Wheel (again?)
I''m new to puppet and working my way through the documentation. I''m
struggling with the puppet labs module repo.
I''ve toyed with numerous automation and configuration methodologies over
the decades. Perhaps I''m seeing puppet wrong, Compared with CFEngine
there is a a lot I like, but I''m not sure why I''m still having to re-invent

[PATCH] Btrfs: add "nocompress" mount option
In btrfs if we mount with "compress" we have no way to disable
compressing by remounting
(mount -o remount /mnt/btrfs), only by unmounting and mounting without
"compress".
This patch adds "nocompress" mount option which can be used to remount
the filesystem without compression:
# mount -o remount,nocompress /mnt/btrfs
This option is usefull in cases when we have a
