all in one server: xen/esxi + zfs storage + other server + pci passthrough
...-minimal zfs storage with latest features (i just say deduplication an snapshots)
-other server (like windows or our vdr video server - pci passthrough to sat card
my current config is:
-vti-d capable mainboard + 8gb+ ecc ram
-esx4i base system on a small raid-1 hardware raid
-minimal zfs storage (nexenta3 + napp-it webgui), lsi-sas controller and hds (via vti-d)
-other systems with pci passthrough if needed
i hoped, opensolaris/ nexenta + xen on top will be the base, but i see no stable or even running system in the near future, so i will go with esxi in the moment.
