Please help, going mad with permissions
Dear SAmba Sorry to trouble you again but here is my problem. I want to have a directory writeable only for users in a unix group "accounts" so i need to do two things. 1. Create the group and user in linux 2. Create the relevant masks for the samba share for this directory so i do this: 1 # mkdir /dev/accounts 2. # chgrp accounts /dev/accounts 3. # chmod 0770 /dev/accounts

Suse 8 rpm
Dear All Does anyone have a distribution for Suse 8. I now have two servers running Suse and would like each machine to be part of the same "domain". Server1 is the domain master for my test domain - NTGX, but rather than maintaining a list if users and smbpasswd on each machine i'd like the second server to "have a copy" of what is on server1. I hope this is possible.

Added NT$ machine to SAMBA PDC and got this in the administrators group?
weird, just created a new machine account via useradd(mandrake 8.2) and then logged the NT4 machine into the samba domain, by default "root" or "admin" was not added to the administrators group, so i logged into the local machine and added them manually. Spotted this though under members: NTGX\unix_group.2147483404?? what's this all about and why did "root"
