AW: New User in Samba 2.2.4
sorry but I don't understand exactly what you mean. When I create a new user
I'm logged in as root.
How can I create a new user with an trust account??

KDE
i'm using samba 2.2.5 and mandrake 8.5 as a pdc for test. Whenever i create
a trust account PC123$ for a machine to login it appears as user in the KDE
interface, i know its not samba specific but if i have 100 users thats a
lot of $ users on the login list!

Please help, going mad with permissions
Dear SAmba
Sorry to trouble you again but here is my problem.
I want to have a directory writeable only for users in a unix group
"accounts"
so i need to do two things.
1. Create the group and user in linux
2. Create the relevant masks for the samba share for this directory
so i do this:
1 # mkdir /dev/accounts
2. # chgrp accounts /dev/accounts
3. # chmod 0770 /dev/accounts

Samba performance
Hi all.
I know this has probably been asked before, but I need a quick answer, and
didn't find anything on the net.
Has anyone done any benchmark comparisons of server speed from Win95
clients, accessing files on a Samba 1.9.17p1 server share, as compared to
an NT Server, running on the same server hardware? If so, how did Samba
1.9.17 measure up to the NT server?
I need an answer to this,

Suse 8 rpm
Dear All
Does anyone have a distribution for Suse 8. I now have two servers running
Suse and would like each machine to be part of the same "domain". Server1
is the domain master for my test domain - NTGX, but rather than maintaining
a list if users and smbpasswd on each machine i'd like the second server to
"have a copy" of what is on server1. I hope this is possible.

Added NT$ machine to SAMBA PDC and got this in the administrators group?
weird, just created a new machine account via useradd(mandrake 8.2) and
then logged the NT4 machine into the samba domain, by default "root" or
"admin" was not added to the administrators group, so i logged into the
local machine and added them manually. Spotted this though
under members:
NTGX\unix_group.2147483404??
what's this all about and why did "root"
