Hi! I am studying to use some R libraries which are applied for working with artificial neural neworks (amore, nnet). Can you recommend some useful, reliable and easy to get example data to use in R for creating and testing a neural network? __________________________________________________________________ Make your browsing faster, safer, and easier with the new Internet Explorer[[elided...

password problem -- or bug?
...disappointing password problem on our Samba network. If a user on our network has a non-empty Windows password, he is forced to supply his password to log in to the network and gain writing privilegies -- as expected. However, if the user has an empty Windows password, he is able to log in to the nework and gain writing privilegies to the shares at the linux-server without ever supplying any password. This is both on his own profile share and for the common shares on the server. How can that be? In our "friendly" network it is not a major problem. It still is undesirable though. Is it a...

Re-doing tdbsam
Running Samba 3.x with tdbsam. Its a small nework of 4 Windwos XP machines. Having a little trouble adding the machines to the domain. pdbedit shows duplication machines names and such. Since its such a small number of machines, want to just start over with a fresh tdbsam as it seems faster then trying to clean it up. Can we just delete...

Network Named Pipes supported under Wine ?
..., OutBSize=10096, InBuffSize=10096, DefTimeOut=0, SecAttr=0x412f6f00): stub Which looks very SMB ish in its format. I am guessing that this would require some co operation from Samba. The applet runs in the system tray and all the functions work OK, but I dont get any network connectivity. Are neworked named pipes supported under Wine? I would very much like to avoid installing NT because the rest of the process works fine, even the tray icon under KDE. Regards Steve Ball

need help setting up a printer
...ime use a local print driver as imprints and adding from 2k are way over my head. I'm still trying to understand the new [print$] share. Oh and I'd prefer to not to have to create the "print" share PDF_Printer below but so far it's the only way to get a printer to display from nework neighborhood. [print$] doesn't create a list automatically as near as I can tell and 2k doesn't use [printer]. Can anyone help or point out any obvious flaws in my setup? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. =) [global] total print jobs = 0 load printers = Yes...

PXELinux can't load the config file?
...ux.0 loads, but it can't load the configuration file? tftp on the host tries to send the file, but data transfers do not receive ACKs. I got tftp-hpa to compile on the IRIX box, but it doesn't work any better. Any ideeas on what is wrong, and how can I fix it? I "snooped" on the nework, and here's what I see: 192.168.1.1 is the server, 192.168.1.4 the client This listing uses the SGI tftp, the data packet doesn't get ACK, this sequence keeps repeating: _______________________ ETHER: ----- Ether Header ----- ETHER: ETHER: Packet 56 arrived at 17:55:19.66 ETHER: Packet...

XCP storage
Hello, I have setup XCP using the install .iso and have been trying to do an install over http, this has failed miserably each time. So now I want to just carve out an lvm from the disk and put my .iso files in there and install off of them. How is this done? I can create an lvm easy enough but I am not sure how to mount it and expose it to XCP. Is there some type of magic I am missing? Is there
