...e. Did it before. The home.htt zone only seems to exist in ldap and bind_dlz provides lookup answers by querying ldap. How is the AD DC handled, homebase.home.htt? I do not see it in the /usr/share/samba/setup/named* files. Is it already in the ldap repository? How do I add my file server, nevia.home.htt? I could always add it to the htt.zone file as: nevia.home IN A ...... Can I put cname entries into ldap: repo.home.htt IN CNAME nevia.home.htt. Again, I COULD just put this into the htt.zone file. Then there are MX records for home.htt :)

...l find in the wiki how to do this, or find my old notes. Are workstations assigned DNS entries when they get their DHCP lease? So that 'den' becomes den.home.htt and diningroom becomes diningroom.home.htt? That is what I would think DYNDNS would be doing. Of course the file servers, nevia and vega would be nevia.home.htt and vega.home.htt? But since these are statically assigned, again, I am assuming there are ways to get them into the internal DNS. Finally I am testing on one RFC1918 subnet (check out the authors of 1918) and then will move all the servers to another one. wha...

...;mkdir -p /media/backup/homebase/var/flexshare/shares/' Oh?? I have been doing this in one shape or form for a long time. It is running right now, copying all the sub dirs and creating any new needed with: rsync -ah --stats --delete -e "ssh -pnnnn -l user" /var/flexshare/shares/ nevia.htt-consult.com:/media/WD3TB01/backups/homebase/var/flexshare/shares Note the source ending with / That is needed.? Without it, it creates a shares directory under the target directory. > Then retry the rsync. > _______________________________________________ > CentOS mailing list >...

C7 and /etc/sysconfig/network
Does Centos 7 use /etc/sysconfig/network or is this replaced by some systemctl set of commands. For example I know to set my host name with: hostnamectl set-hostname nevia.htt-consult.com But I don't know if this is the same as cat <<EOF>/etc/sysconfig/network || exit 1 NETWORKING=yes HOSTNAME=nevia.htt-consult.com EOF

...the htt.zone file needed. BTW, I do not see you using views in your named include files. From what I got beaten up long ago on the DNS list (Mark Andrews and I go back a long way in the IETF, so it is 'all in fun') that you MUST use views. >> >> How do I add my file server, nevia.home.htt? Add it to ~/.ssh/config: Host nevia.htt-consult.com Port 2222 User rmoskowitz You might not think of rsync as paying attention to this file, which is correct, because it doesn?t. But since it is executing ssh under the hood, and ssh *does* pay attention to that file, it takes effect. If you?re creating that file fo...

rsync versioning problem
I seem to have an rsync versioning problem. The sender is an old ClearOS6 server with rsynv 3.0.6 The receiver is a brand new Centos7-armv7 server with rsync 3.1.2 I am running rsync over ssh Got the error: rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(600) [sender=3.0.6] And researching this it comes down to a versioning issue.? But all I have found was to upgrade the
