Asterisk 11.5 not honoring RTP port change in RE-INVITE
I have an Asterisk 11.5 system, using SIP Realtime and operating as a ITSP. One of my customer's endpoints is a NetVanta 7100 PBX system that has a SIP trunk connection to my Asterisk box. The NV 7100 has a public IP on it that doesn't have any NAT between it and my Asterisk system. When the customer transfers a call from one handset to a voicemail box, the NV 7100 sends a RE-INVITE to Asterisk with SDP informa...

Recommendations for QoS, PoE Switches
Hi all,
For a top quality setup, I will need to install high quality VoIP switches
with QoS and PoE. My potential customer should not have any problem with
call quality. Experienced folks, Please advice me what switches to install
and at what price. I may need it for upto 100 phones. What else should I
consider so that phones work without problem along with the computers on the
same network?

ISDN config: LBO values
Hi all,
When configuring Asterisk with an ISDN card, it will at one point
become necessary to select the LBO (Line Build-Out) value. This is an
integer (0-7) that is determined by the length of the cable and is
selected from the following table. Many of us are familiar with it:
CSU (dB) DSX-1 (feet)

RE: FS: Cyclades PC300/TE2 Dual T1 Interface PCI Card For LinuxPC!
...bit of pricing
homework a few months ago on new T1 cards. The idea was to build a
Linux based router/firewall. After all, Ethernet NICs are easily
available for less than $10 today. But all the T1 cards I found cost a
fortune. And about a year ago, I learned the list price for a complete
Adtran Netvanta 3200 router with T1 card is in the $700 range. Cisco
17xx routers are considerably more expensive. With that kind of cost, I
have a difficult time justifying the time and effort to build a Linux T1
router. Am I nuts? Does anyone know of an ongoing supply for low cost
and reliable PCI <-->...

Some questions re. T1 cards & QoS
I've been asked to assess the cost of implementing Asterisk with a
single T1 line in one of our offices. I've had plenty of experience
w/ TDM400 cards, but T1 is new for me so a couple of questions:
1) Will I need a digital or analogue interface card? I expect digital
is the answer, but the Digium web site said something about analogue
cards being able to support "provider T1
