ActiveRecord attribute= overload
I want to overload the = operator for one of the attributes in a model to run a filter on the input. However I can''t do this: def attribute=(data) self.attribute = filter(data) end because that creates an infinite recursive loop. How do I get around this? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Sweave function
Dear list, I have a question about the interaction between R code and Latex language trough the Sweave function in the package "utils". What I'm trying to do is to write a report. Contrary to the examples shown in the Sweave Manual in which table already constructed by R are "exported" on Latex files, what I would like to do is to build a table in which I combine text and

[LLVMdev] Speculative Loop Parallelization on LLVM IR
Hi Tobias: Thanks for replying . So if I understand correctly, in LLVM currently, the Polyhedral model is being built ( LLVM IR -------> Poly Model ----------> LLVM IR ). This is for compile-time optimizations of loop-nests [e.g. loop-transformations to expose parallelism or improve locality etc]. Yes, thats great for optimizing loop-nests. As an additional, since the real value of LLVM

QoS - Ping problem
Hello all, I have set my QoS solution and now I am facing a little problem... When I ping to my server it has some lost packages: Estatísticas do Ping para 172.30.0.1: Pacotes: SENDED = 1029, RETURNED = 880, LOST = 149 (14% de perda), Aproximar um número redondo de vezes em milissegundos: Mínimo = 0ms, Máximo = 686ms, Média = 105ms If I disable my QoS ping stats to be ok. I even have

group changes?
I have several groups in /etc/groups on my samba server. I upgraded to samba 3.0.23b and then users couldn't connect to any shares they were groups on in /etc/groups (shares used valid users = @groupname) but could connect to shares where valid users = their_username. I did some reading and saw the group mapping change at

Problem with routing to multiple tables
Hello all, I am having some difficults to make a routing rule work. I want that every P2P packages go to one interface (eth2 - cheaper link) nad the rest of the traffic go to another interface (eth0 - frame relay very expensive). Strategy for penalising IPs with too many simultaneous sessions
Hi all, I have been trying to investigate traffic shaping in an effort to solve the "unfriendly network apps" problem on a test network. I have a basis by which I''d like to shape traffic, but studying the howto doesn''t uncover and existing qdisc that seems to fit what I would like to do. u32 and iptables do not work together
Hello all, I am trying to make a filter into my QoS rules and I founded that when I try to use filters u32 and with fwmark they do not work together. Help again for Samba 3.0
Hello again, althogh some of you already tried to help me, I still have the same problem: I'd like to test the new Samba 3.0 as a PDC for two Windows 2000 clients. My OS is FreeBSD 4.5 Can anyone help me with that ? I always get the errors : 'no user session key' and 'remote procedure call failed'. As I found out the error messages (on the clients) both change regularly.

dovecot/auth CPU spikes

Everything is fine except that login is particularly and consistently long (around 4-5 seconds). I have noticed that the process dovecot/auth seems to eat all of the resources of one of the cores available on the host during login. The authentication backend is a postgres database which
