Seems wrong to me.
If you use samba 4. ( dont know if its the same for samba 3 )
Make sure you have this in smb.conf

FreeBSD 8.2 XENHVM Kernel on Xencloud
Good afternoon,
The subject practically is saying what I''m trying to ask but... does
anyone tried FreeBSD 8.2 or similar under Cytrix Xenserver or XenCloud?. I
have been doing some benchmarks and seems to perform pretty nice... and
seems to be
stable too; the only thing would be nice to be available for FreeBSD at
Xenserver/Xencloud would be the Xenserver/Xencloud''s

deployment survey
Hello Mongrels,
Building on the last messages about Fastthread, can we get a detailed
survey of the different ways people are deploying their applications?
It will help with near-future Mongrel development.
Please include the following things:
* Framework, if any (Camping, Merb, Rails, Nitro, Ramaze, IOWA, Rack...)
* Mongrel version
* Mongrel handlers used (rails, dirhandler, camping,

convert xva to img
Hi all,
I need to get NetScaler running for a load balancing project. So I''m trying to convert the xva to an image for use with Xen. I have done the following;
downloaded xenmigrate.py
downloaded and untarred the xva image from Citrix
ran the following: python xenmigrate.py --convert=Ref\:214/ ns.img
xenmigrate says that it has completed successfully however I can''t mount

Scalability, Dashboard/Foreman, and MCollective
I''ve been trying to find information, suggestions, etc. for how to combine
scaling Puppet with the use of management tools like Dashboard/Foreman and
MCollective. Our current thinking for an initial deployment is two VMs as
Puppet Master worker nodes fronted by a pair of NetScalers. However, I''m not
sure how to go about implementing Dashboard or Foreman and MCollective
servers in a redundant Puppet Master server environment. Can anyone speak to
their experience in this matter and/or point me to resources that discuss
such architectures?
FWIW, we''ll later im...

Fotolog needs Unix Sys Admins!
Job: Unix Administrator

"conventional cluster management software"
I saw this in the openfiler thread, and realised it is another major
hole in my knowledge
What do you all use for clustering, and does it run out-of-the-box with CentOS?
My main areas of interest are :
- DB clustering (PostgreSQL) - yeah, we're looking at commercial stuff
and skytools
- web server clustering - Apache on CentOS
- storage clustering
thanks,

Headers munged into RAW_POST_DATA
Hi,
we''re seeing a really weird problem in our production environment.
"Connection: Keep-Alive\r\n" is being pre-pended to the RAW_POST_DATA,
which makes requests error out. This bug is seen infrequently and
*seems* to be browser-related, although I can''t reproduce it using the
browser reported in HTTP_USER_AGENT.
Set up is a apache 2.2 -> hardware load balancer

Mirrored Servers
Lets say I have two servers, both running opensolaris with ZFS. I basically want to be able to create a filesystem where the two servers have a common volume, that is mirrored between the two. Meaning, each server keeps an identical, real time backup of the other''s data directory. Set them both up as file servers, and load balance between the two for incoming requests.
How would anyone

load balancer recommendations
Hello all,
The question is not necessarily CentOS-specific - but there are lots of
bright people on here, and - quite possibly - the final implementation will
be on CentOS hence I figured I'd ask it here. Here is the situation.
I need to configure a Linux-based network load balancer (NLB) solution. The
idea is this. Let us say I have a public facing load balancer machine with
an public IP

named.conf: query-source address
Hi!
I fully understand and second efforts on educating people
how to configure BIND to be stong to attacks and keep them from using
"query-source address" with "port" option but how about
binding named to particular IP address when host has many of them?
Using "query-source address" without "port" is the only solution
(not speaking of jails here) and safe
