xen-3.0.2-3
Hi
I read a few times in the web about xen-3.0.2-3 but I cannot find a place to
download it.
Not even here: http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/Research/SRG/netos/xen/downloads/
Where can I get it? And does it have network issues solved?
And what is the most current kernel I can use with xen? How do I change the
source to use a more current kernel than 2.6.16.6?
Regards,
Steffen

Joining a Linux Machine to a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain
Hey all, I'm trying to join a Linux machine running CentOS 5, Samba version
3.0.23 to a Windows 2003 Active Directory. I can authenticate successfully
against Kerberos, but I cannot seem to join the domain. I'm using
instructions from this article

but when I get to the join command I get this

[External] numericDeriv alters result of eval in R 4.0.1
Dear all
As far as I could trace, looking at the function C function numeric_deriv,
this unwanted behavior comes from the inner most loop in, at the very end
of the function,
for(i = 0, start = 0; i < LENGTH(theta); i++) {
for(j = 0; j < LENGTH(VECTOR_ELT(pars, i)); j++, start += LENGTH(ans)) {
SEXP ans_del;
double origPar, xx, delta;
origPar = REAL(VECTOR_ELT(pars, i))[j];

Samba Domain authentication and shares
Hello,
I have been able to use Samba to join our Win2003 domain. I have also
setup folders and permissions in the smb.conf file. I can browser to the
Samba Shares 2 ways, thru network neighborhood and by UNC/ip address.
Both of these methods prompt me for login which is not successful. I
assumed that if I userA had permissions to a folder in the smb.conf file
that Windows userA would e able to

numericDeriv alters result of eval in R 4.0.1
Dear R developers,
I've run into a weird behavior of the numericDeriv function (from the stats
package) which I also posted on StackOverflow (question has same title as
this email, except for the version of R).
Running the code bellow we can see that the numericDeriv function gives an
error as the derivative of x^a wrt a is x^a * log(x) and log is not defined
for negative numbers. However,

Linus "praise" for Xen
...kernels need to be ported to the xen arch).
Xen itself executes in ring0 and the "guest" operating systems
execute in ring1. User code runs in ring3, as usual. They have linux
running under xen ;)
The project''s home page is at

the whole thing is here:

Thanks, Marco! If there is enough interest in this topic we can also organize a separate round table for this discussion.

R and Ox
Hi David, I hope all is well w/ you. Co-operation beetwen R and
Ox would be most welcome. A possible problem lies in the fact that,
although free for academic use, Ox is not open source. I too have
been using Ox for computer-intensive programming. I also code some
of my programs in C, but I always try Ox first, and in most cases
it is efficient enough. For details, see

Samba and LDAP: Trouble adding Win XP machines to the domain
Hi all,
I am doing some research on Samba+OpenLDAP (+DHCP+DNS) with the intention of
getting rid of the Micro$oft licenses necessary to maintain the Server
products from such company. One of the aims I have is to demonstrate other
people in my company that an open source alternative can work as well as (or
even better than) a propietary solution.
At the moment, I am getting desperated trying to

http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/ with path sets.

Problem with samba+openldap with regard changing passwords from windows
I have implemented samba with LDAP backend, domain logins and roaming
profiles and everything is great - except for one thing.
Noone can change their passwords from windows - trying to change your
password results in windows telling you your not allowed to do that!
I did smbldap-show alan and among other information the line:
sambaPwdCanChange: 0 appeared.
From my understanding if I do
