Cyrus firstname.lastname@domain
I'm converting an environment from mandrake to centos, and always try to
use the applications standard on the distribution. This means a switch
from courier to cyrus.
A bit of reading uncovered a potential problem - the site uses
firstname.lastname at domain, and I have come across references that Cyrus
does not support this. I couldn't find this limitation in the Cyrus

Win2K and samba 2.0.6
...the FreeBSD host is a domain member and I'm
athenticating against the domain PDC.
I had to update to 3.4-STABLE from 3.4-RELEASE to get speeds up to something
similar to 3.3-RELEASE, and as of the 2/14 version of 3.4-STABLE I am having
the smbpasswd coredump mentioned by two other users on the netnews samba
group; however, smbpasswd was able to attach the server to the domain before
dying, and the crash has no functional effect.
Getting speeds up requires some entries in the smb.conf file and some
corresponding kernel changes provided by tdwyer@io.telstra.com.au:

Does Wine leave a Zombie-Thread behind?
Hi all,
I'm quite new to Wine, so sorry if this question was discussed before.
I installed Wine to have Lotus Notes running on my Linux-Box (SuSE 7.2). I use
to start it via a desktop shortcut. After closing Notes I still find a wine
process running. If I start it from the command line, I also have to kill the
process after Notes is finished (CRTL-C).
Is this a bug or a feature? Any

non-informative error message
Hello,
The openssh client terminates with the following error message when unable to
resolve a username: "You don't exist, go away!"
Leaving aside style and tone, the message is not informative. Please consider
changing it to something more appropriate and helpful, such as "Unable to
resolve username".
(The message appears in the files ssh-keygen.c and ssh.c, as of

By 1977 or so, PLATO was featuring real-time multiplayer dungeon games,
not to mention real-time spacewar, IM, chat, email, netnews, and a host of
other things we now take for granted. All this on high-resolution plasma
panel terminals connected at 1200 baud to twin Cyber 6600 supercomputer.
Now you understand why I was kicked out of Cornell for a year; PLATO was
crack for computer nerds. (Robert Woodhead, co-creator of Wiz...
