tcpdump -> netmon conversion utility
I've written a very simple utility that can convert from tcpdump
capture format to microsoft network monitor (netmon) format.
We are using this to help us get the new NT domain controller code
working. Some people may find this useful for other things.
It's available at

using pam_radius_auth to authenticate of a radius server also running
Redhat, My problem is that the request goes via the radius server fine
and sends back a rad.accept to the pam module but ssh refuses to let me
in, it looks like sometihng to do with rhosts but complains very loud

Oplock errors in 2.2.8a
Hi,
We are having connection timeout issues in Excel and Word. Was this an
issue that was resolved in post 3.0 versions? We are running 2.2.8a.
Below is the samba log file and I have attached a netmon output.
Thanks,
Domenic

gplpv driver signature problem under win2k8_64bit
Hi,
I am at a complete loss of ideas here:
I have a
- xen3.3.1 hypervisor compiled from source with
- dom0 being 2.6.26-1-xen-amd64 kernel from debian/lenny repository with
- windows 2008 64bit as hvm guest.
I use the gplpv drivers 0.10.0.69 from James Harper.
The included files (xenpci.sys and xennet.sys) are apparently test-signed,
so applying test-signing as boot option does enable

Broken support for Smart Card Logon in Windows 2003 and XP
Hello.
As I can see this post: https://jira.it.su.se/jira/browse/HEIMDAL-241,
at least? Samba 4.0.0alpha5 supported Smart Card logon for Windows XP
workstations.
Current version (Version 4.0.0alpha14-GIT-77d959f+) does not support
smart card logon on Windows XP workstation (but Windows 7 works well).
I tried to compare Kerberos traffic examples from genuine domain
controller and Samba's

Ubuntu HVM installation is very slow
Hi Everyone,
I am trying my hands on xen under Solaris SXCE build 113. The machine has
the following configuration:
2 Quad Core Xeon CPUs
16 GB RAM
Solaris SXCE b113
4 disks - 2 mirrors x 2 stripes under ZFS
The problem is that xen HVM is very slow. I am using the following command
to create an Ubuntu 9.0.4 test vm.
virt-install -n test1 -r 2048 --vcpus=2 -f /vdatapool/data/test1.img -s 50

Office365
Hi All,
We have a Ubuntu AD on version 4.7.6 and are trying to implement Office 365. We have been able to configure so far
- Password sync
- Filtering users in certain OUs in AD to Azure AD
What we can't get to work is seamless SSO. Initially we installed the Azure AD sync in a server 2012 (AD member server) and tried to run the SSO, it comes up with "An error

NTDOM: DCE/RPC over SMB Trans
i've been examining the DCE/RPC over SMB Trans pipes, and i have to say
that i'm quite impressed with the design: my compliments to the NT team.
i find it quite an agreeable challenge working out the bits that are (and
are not) decoded by NETMON.EXE.
there are a couple of niggling things, about which absolutely nothing can
be done, but i thought i'd mention them anyway:
- the

filling up my process table with samrd and lsarpcd calling each other
(...only kidding).
- fixed up netlogond so that pam_ntdom can contact it on a domain loopback

how to do java-like hashtables in R, R from a java progra mmer's p onit of view
It sounds like we are kindred spirits.
I am using an old PC, with linux installed, running tcpdump as my packet
sniffer.
I will experiment with data frames as you suggest to get the hang of R some
more
before worrying about hashtables again.

trashed files on a Samba share?
Hi.
My problem is this: my mail and newsreader, Fort? Agent, runs ok when
the server is NT but has the annoying habit of systematically trashing
its databases if the server is Samba. But not always...
If the client is 98, no problems at all. If the client is NT, then
Agent will work ok if you set "nt smb support" to "no". With this
setting, a client running 98 will fail to

Samba Dropouts...
OK, I have been banging my head into the wall on this now for two or more
weeks
We have a samba server (2.2.8 then 2.2.8a) running on top of a 320 GB raid
ATA-raid array with a FastTrack controller. Both the server and workstations
are running through Gigabit NIC's. Every five or so minutes the workstations
loose communications with the server, Then it takes 10-15 seconds for the

how to do java-like hashtables in R, R from a java programmer's p onit of view
I suppose I am looking for recommendations on the right book on R for me.
This post drones on a bit about what sort of programming I do and is
basically asking if there are any books on R written with me in mind. I
also make a proposal regarding R documentation at the end.
I started reading "Programming with Data," by Chambers, got really excited
in chapter 1, then found that I had a

Does DomainCompatibilityMode still work for NT4 domain joins in Windows 10?
Greetings!
I have a brand new Windows 10 Pro box, Version 1703, Build 15063.1155, and
made the two registry mods (DNSNameResolutionRequired and
DomainCompatibilityMode) to enable it to join an old-style NT4 Samba domain
(Version 4.3). However, I note that the dialog for joining a domain within
Windows 10 now specifically says to "Join an Active Directory Domain," and
no attempt to join
