[Fwd: [Netjuke-users] getid3 dev on a coding spree...]
Just in case any enterprising souls out there feel up to the challenge of determining play time and bitrate average for Ogg Vorbis files via PHP, I send along this message from the programmer of the NetJuke project. Web Based Front Ends
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Can anyone comment on the "front ends" they are using to manage their ices/icecast streams? I have done some searching and playing with such web-based products as netjuke, and obsequium, and otto audio jukebox, but none fill the requirements exactly, and none appear to interface with ices/icecast the way I would like. Rather than have the client (xmms) be handed an m3u playlist file (netjuke), and have the client request each song indiviudually from the apache s...

...know if there's a command line, MySQL-based playlist manager for ices2? I'd love to be able to manage my playlists and ID3 tag info using a database interface. I'd also like to be able to easily serve up customized playlist's through ices2 in a manner similar to what I currently use NetJuke for, but to do this requires a database. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help. I highly recommend the open source Jinzora project (http://www.jinzora.org/). It has merged with and extended the capabilities of the older NetJuke project. It's geared towards authenticated, on-demand playback and supports many formats, ogg included. I've been thoroughly impressed with the quality of the package, it's GUI options, and its robustness. I personally use icecast2 to support a peercast broadcast and use NetJuke/Jinzo...

I have a playlist that is updated every 5min with any new files to a directory. Do I need to restart icecast/ices to have the new files played? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
