streaming vorbis files from an openbsd box

[2001-08-02 22:11:31] INFO main/main Shutting down

(I believe the "recoverable error" occured when I hit stop on
winamp.)
What should I do next? If you like, please try to listen to my
stream, http://netjam.org:7777/example1.ogg; I'll leave it running.
Also, how do I get icecast2 to append to the log immediately, instead
of buffering messages and writing them all upon exit?
thanks,

streaming vorbis files from an openbsd box
...So all I had to do was take im_oss out of the Makefile (at the
suggestion of Michael Smith, after oss_ioctl wasn't found during
linking), and use -pthread instead of -lpthread (a peculiarity of
OpenBSD, I think).

any metadata stream documentation at all?
...Is there any documentation at all on how to use metadata streams? In
particular, I'm wondering if it's possible to have a metadata stream
which is synchronized with an audio stream (e.g., a slide show).
thanks,

how to set up a Vorbis server
...and files were supposed to be created at
some point (and that I would have gotten them if I were working from an
RPM or Debian package).
Can someone provide better instructions, or point out what I did wrong?

Ices2 and Jack
...ogg edge between ices-jack and xmms-jack vertices makes a nice delay effect :) if you use feedback, there's interesting sound deterioration due to repeated ogg-encoding/decoding and noise buildup.here's me toying around with my bass and such a setup:

if you have problems setting up jack, i suggest we discuss this on
linux-audio-user or the jackit list, it's probably not interesting
for most people here.

Ices2 and Jack
>From what I have read on some mailing lists, there is a jack module for ices2
that works quite well. Why isn't this information on the ices2 web page or
documentation? Ices is useless to me without this, yet so awesome with it. I
saw requests from people for you to do this over a month ago. What's the
problem?
Thanks,
Daniel

Use of ogg vorbis for real time audio streaming?
Hi list!
I am currently investigating the possibility of allowing musicians to
collaborate over the internet --
Musician A -------> internet --------> Musician B
This diagram obscures quite a lot of detail. In reality, the datapath would look
more like this:
Musician A
ADC
Compression algorithm
UTP (or perhaps RTP?)
IP
ADSL
the Internet
