secure channel
Help please.
How to reset the secure channel between the domain controller on samba3
and workstation with Win XP?
this workstation worked properly till today, but now it can't log in to
domain .
I have run a netdiag utility and has seen the issue:
rust relationship test. . . . . . : Failed
[FATAL] Secure channel to domain 'MYDOMAIN' is broken.
[ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED]
may be another way to fix it (except rejoining a domain) ??
thanx in advance

Problems with password authentication on Samba as an AD-Member
...is nice procedure
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/263532/de -- checkout the listbox on
the leftside for a translated version). After serveral days of desaster
recovery, I managed to promote a freshly installed Windows DC and
finally used dcpromo to downgrade the recovered Version. Replmon,
dcdiag, netdiag show no errors on the domaincontroller.
After that, with the new domaincontroller, everything works fine, except
the passwordbox-thing (only with the Samba-Server, shares offered by
windows computers can be accessed as before the crash)
Users are only able to use the Sambaserver, when logged in t...

Boot Bug
...F called
WISP-dist but I also experianced the same problem with the Bering
distro. Here is my syslinux.cfg:
display syslinux.dpy
timeout 2
default linux rw initrd=initrd.lrp init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0
boot=/dev/hda,msdos,/dev/hda,msdos rwfs=/dev/hda2 PKGPATH=/dev/hda
LRP=root,zebra,net-snmp,sshd,netdiag,local
append console=ttyS0,19200
Yes it works with the /dev/hda as the device. I guess a long time ago
(back when 1.66 was still current) I had problems partitining hda so I
just used the raw device.
So without changeing anything if I do something like:
syslinux-1.66 /dev/hda It works :-)

problems with login and browsing on 3.5.4 LDAP PDC
I was running 3.0.25c (I think) LDAP PDC for a couple of years and just
tried swapping in a new 3.5.4 setup. I had some problems so I wiped all
the entries and *.tdb files, and started from scratch.
Problem in a nutshell: I can't browse the domain normally, nor can I logon
to the domain. However I can access the server shares fine if I point to
the server specifically. SOMETIMES this will

...I thought it might be related to guest/nobody mapping but I
have exhausted all of the permutations there. I have tried smbusers
mapping, putting guest into LDAP, etc., and none of it seems to make much
any difference in the logs or with the problem at hand.

nbtstat is able to display remote data but it does not use the SMB/LANMAN
enumeration over IPC$ which is where the problem seems to lie.
Local utilities on the Samba server also...

GRE over IPSec VPN
Hey guys I''ve been beating my head on this for a few hours. Maybe it is
just a stupid configuration error you can point me at. First here is a
small diagram of what I am trying to configure:
http://6bit.com/img/netdiag.png Currently I only have Shorewall running on
the host on the right of the diagram until I can get this working then I''ll
add it to the other host as well.
I''ve read the docs on GRE/IPIP tunneling and the docs on IPSec transport
with the 2.6 kernel. I''ve been able to...
