NUT unable to resolve host despite DNS working.
Hello all, I have been having a problem with upsmon on Fedora 24 on boot. NUT is configured as a netclient to a Raspbian NUT server. After boot up upsmon repeatedly says "connect failed: No such host". It is not able to connect at all until the service is bounced. This seems to indicate a name resolution problem but shouldn't this auto correct once name resolution is working properly

battery.runtime
Hi Charles, I don't think "ignorelb" will work in my case because that is set on the master. I am using the nut package in pfSense as the master and I want pfSense to shutdown on LOWBATT as designed. I tried using upssched.conf with timers on the netclients but that's not appropriate because ONBATT by itself doesn't tell you how much capacity remains in the UPS. You still need to invoke a script to check. The netclients are what I need shutdown in a particular order. I'm currently using upsc to get ups.status = "OB" and batte...

battery.runtime
First time poster but I've been using NUT periodically for a long time. I was looking for a way to initiate a shutdown on servers when UPS battery runtime drops to a certain threshold. I never found a published way after much searching. I have upsmon running mostly for the email notifications and removed the shutdowncmd command to keep it from running. Rather I'm using a cron job

Issue with apcupsd-ups?
Hello;I just came across NUT, testing FreeNAS/FreeBSD. I?m running at home a APC UPS connected to another computer, running apcupsd. I found out that NUT didn't talk by default to apcupsd, and there was a driver created relatively recently (apcupsd-ups), which filled in that gap. The version I found on my FreeBSD/FreeNAS system seems to imply that there is more to come to that driver (0.04)

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)

Do they have their own UPS's?

Sphinx2
I have a gateway, which I call from my mobile phone (free of charge, since it is the same phone company). This gateway gives me a dial tone. I can than dial to any extension number or even other gateways, .... It is getting more a trouble to remember all the numbers, or to key in all the long phone numbers when you got the dialtone. I was thinking of using for this Sphinx2. How can I

windows version upsmon.exe - libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll error
Hi, I just installed NUT-Installer-2.6.5-6.msi on Windows 2012 server, set config as netclient and start windows service. I found service is running but monitoring is not working. After some investigation I discovered that I had to copy libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll from c:\Program Files (x86)\NUT\bin\ to c:\Program Files (x86)\NUT\sbin\ I suppose it is a bug and should be corrected with next windows

Can this be done with NUT? (ordered shutdown, revisited)
...server MONITOR=realups at localhost 1 upsmon secret master MINSUPPLIES=1 Server connected to repeated UPS: MODE=netserver MONITOR repeated at localhost 0 upsmon secret master MONITOR realups at server 1 upsmon secret slave MINSUPPLIES=1 Clients connect to either the primary or secondary server as netclients as per their status (critical or not). The 0 above in the MONITOR line is to provide protection for this situation and fortunaely I want the secondary server to stay up until the bitter end anyway. If that wasnt the case and I wanted to shut down this server early then I would remove the second MO...

File nut.conf, does mode=netserver means no upsmon?
I'm reading man nut.conf, and trying to understand the MODE directive. Does the specification mode=netserver mean that only upsd and the driver(s) will be started, and that upsmon will not be started? The man page says "Distribution?s init script should source this file in order to determine which components have to be started." But looking at the code which starts upsd in the

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Roger, Ok, so how does this look... Updated upsmon.conf:  https://hastebin.com/jisinaquso.pl > I'm guessing that the UPS supplies only the NAS, not the 3 Ubuntu machines. Do > they have their own UPS's? No, the Synology and the three servers are all on the one UPS (also my switch and spare monitor). All these are super low power devices (two Intel NUCs and a Raspberry Pi) so at
