It won't work. Because you will loose the filesystem ACLs if you sync
from Windows to *nix.

"No printers found" 0x00000bc4
Hello,
One Windows 7 64bit machine in my domain gets this error message when I try to add any printers from a samba printserver. It works fine from any other machine.
Has anyone experienced something similar?

replicating sysvol with windows DCs
I have samba4 set up as an AD DC, and it's working well. It is one of
3 Domain controllers in a domain, the other two being Windows 2008r2. I
followed https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
One thing I that could be improved on the wiki is information about
SysVol replication when there are Windows DCs as peers to samba. I've

Permission denied on server root for all users
The problem existed between keyboard and chair. I forgot to install libnss-winbind. I'm sorry for wasting your time.

The easiest solution/workaround would be to make all the changes to the policies on one oft he Windows DC's and then use rsync to replicate them to samba.

using the DC as a file Server in AD
You'll get problems with file permissions.
I've learned that you won't be able to just give a user access to a file without also giving him read access to every folder, down from the root of the share, that the file is located in. Example: You can't give accounting access to \\samba\IT\management\budget.ods without also giving them rights to \\samba\IT and \\samba\IT\management.

Unable to convert SID at index 3 in user token to a GID.
Hello,
Since today no users except Administrator can access any shares or log into a RDS-host. Trying to access a share returns "The security ID structure is invalid".
Logging into WIndows and authenticating to other services with the domain credentials works.
I have lots of these messages in the log:

Schema extension reported as schema corruption (Samba 4.5)
Hello,
I've got a domain with two Samba DC's, both running samba 4.5. It
started as a network with one DC running samba 4.2, but I upgraded it
something over a year ago or so. There's a schema extension installed
because the mail system likes to store additional information in AD
(Such as is this an active user? Is it an admin? A room?)
I've tried to add a new DC a few days

Permission denied on server root for all users
Hello,
I've tried to set up a member server for my AD domain, but all users get "Permission Denied" when accessing the server, even without a share specified (by entering \\ika in Windows Explorer).
Samba version is 4.2.10-debian on Debian Jessie.
I've mapped DOMAIN\Administrator to root, which allows the Administrator to connect to the server and set permissions.
