Listing knowledge of R as a skill on a resume...
...language or an
application? What's a proper description for it?
I leave to everyone's judgement as to where to respond, but
I suspect off-list would be proper and leave the list
bandwidth for more directly R topics.
Thanks in advance for any help possible.

Using R under Ubuntu...
...ve worked OK, but the process doesn't install it to the
desktop. The notes don't go into that part of it, so I'm seeking some
advice from others more experienced on how to take the last couple of steps
to make R a menu/desktop choice in GNOME.
Please and thanks.

Ubuntu and sources.list question about mirror sites...
...l but that shouldn't be a problem,
should it? If it blocked that would it not have blocked all updating?
Is the line correctly formed? Is there a site that will work? Is that
line strictly necessary, or can I drop it as unneeded with the Gibbon?
Any help much appreciated...

R 2.7.2 missing something in the install packages menu functions...
...RUE
been dropped from the install packages menu function with this edition?
As recently as 2.7.1 the choice seemed to hunt dependencies automatically,
but now I'm having to enter the function manually to get that back. Is
there a way to add this back to the menu choice?

Asking an old housekeeping question...
...o pad my R setup with orphan packages. Is there a small snippet of
code or even a single command that would allow me to check the packages I do use
for their dependencies and then I can chuck those that don't turn up as wanted
on the journey. Thanks in advance.

Warned about these "three little maids"...
...the install choices. A quick search on the
names and I get the impression these three are not available for the
Windows platform. Correct perception or no? Do I need them for a windows
setup? Where would I find them if they are needed?
Any help or advice much appreciated...

OT: Problems updating OS to deal with fading R support for Ubuntu Hardy Heron...

in new hardware? Is there another flavour of Linux that would work with
my system and allow me to maintain a toe hold in the R camp so that I've
got it as a marketable skill somewhere down the road? Any thoughts would

One problem solved and a new one to consider...
...le or on any of the
mirrors I've tried. Is this needed for R on Linux, or is it a leftover from
a Windows edition of whatever package called it as a dependency? If it is
useful to a Linux setup of R, the question is where can I find and
download/install the silly thing?

latex styling for R regression outputs
Hi everybody,
i recently found the latex() command in the Hmisc library and i am
trying to style some regression outputs with latex. i am pretty new to
latex and math mode. So I wonder if there?s some sample script for a
basic output. I read lots of econometrics books and regression outputs
looked the same all the way. I mean there must be the one simple
styling that is been used so
