negetative AIC values: How to compare models with negative AIC's
Dear,
When fitting the following model
knots <- 5
lrm.NDWI <- lrm(m.arson ~ rcs(NDWI,knots)
I obtain the following result:
Logistic Regression Model
lrm(formula = m.arson ~ rcs(NDWI, knots))

vcut breaks song index ? XMMS search fails
Hello
I have experienced some problems with vcut
(media-sound/vorbis-tools-1.0-r1 package from Gentoo/Linux).
I have a long live record I have encoded in OGG (maybe it would have
been easier to cut the WAV file and encode the parts, but still). The
file was encoded with oggenc from the same package as vcut.
I have therefore tried to use vcut to split the long OGG file in
several smaller files.

unexpected tag errors
Hi All.
I've had this problem with rsync, the solution to which has been
really evasive to me. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm running rsync 2.5.5 between 2 SCO boxes and get random "unexpected tag"
errors. Sometimes the unexpected tag is positive, other times negetive,
and a retry of rsync usually manages to work the second or third time round.
The disks are identical in capacity on both systems (on
http://rsync.samba.org/issues.html
lists lack of diskspace causing a problem).
On the "client" system I get these errors:

Poisson Regression
Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask if there is an R-package to fit the following Poisson
regression model
log(\lambda_{ijk}) = \phi_{i} + \alpha_{j} + \beta_{k}
i=1,\cdots,N (subjects)
j=0,1 (two levels)
k=0,1 (two levels)
treating the \phi_{i} as nuinsance parameters.
Thank you very much

[RFC PATCH v2] Implement Batched (group) ticket lock
...h are served
in an unfair manner. This increases probability of any eligible lock-holder being
in running state (to an average of (batch_size/2)-1) and also it provides needed
bounded starvation since any lock requester can not acquire more than batch_size
times repeatedly during contention. On the negetive side we would need an extra cmpxchg.
The patch has the batch size of 8. (As we know increasing batch size means we are
closer to unfair locks and batch size of 1 = ticketlock).
V2 implementation has been optimized for baremetal :
