c6 xen guest install, golf, and geany
List, Is it possible to do a text install (<512RAM) of C6 server, with support for X11 forwarding over ssh, and get geany (editor) to work over ssh? I got X11 forwarding to work when I have a full Xfce desktop, but not with a server setup. I would like to golf this... IOW find the minimum number of packages. Any hints or kickstart configs for the needy? -- Mark

Assigning functions in Rprofile
I use the ugly hack shown below as my .Rprofile (mainly because I couldn't find any other way to spawn a new mozilla window on starting R or calling help.start(), but then send all the help html documents to that new window). With a recent change from a cvs checkout to the released 1.9.0 I find that the new hs() appears if there is nothing of that name in .RData, but if there is the old hs()

Behold, Adon Irani <adon@YorkU.CA> hath decreed: > > the icecast2 developers be guilt-tripped into repeating icecast's > performance ? > _ is it not enough that OGG can have a streaming server that supports it ? Perhaps, if that is the only requirement to have a fully-functional streamer. Unfortunately, I believe this is not sufficient for the user base. So, if the

redhat vorbis install
I hope I'm not being an idiot, but I'm attempting to install vorbis-1.0 RPMs on a few redhat machines and failing horribly. I'm in dependency hell. For starters, libao-0.8.3-1 requires libasound.so.2 (an alsa library?) which does not seem to be available in any recent redhat releases. Then vorbis-tools wants libcurl.so.2, which makes redhat 7.2 machines choke. Worst of all is

What are mini dirt bikes?
What are mini dirt bikes? As the name suggests, mini dirt bikes are basically small dirt bikes. They have quite a lot less power than a standard dirt bike but appear virtually the same. http://2site.com/fadqwe Used Cars For Sale On eBay There are thousands of used cars for sale on eBay every single day. dividing B-trees
[I originally sent this mail to Martin and Richard, but then realised it's of wider interest, so I'm resending it to the list with Martin's reply attached (with his consent)] I was talking to Richard about trying to use shortened dividing keys in the B-trees. Shorter keys are better because you can then fit more in each block, so you need fewer B-tree levels for the same data.

Updates not catching up ?
Hi, I have downloaded and installed centos 4.1 from DVD and I a little confused with the update procedure. The faq from the centos.org site mentions something like 72 hrs (or less) from one security update to goes from the sources.rpm from rh to centos. I was cheking rh's site (https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html) and saw one update to mysql

C7 basic install, HATE
I've got an old server, that I'm *trying* to rebuild from C6. Our regular key, with the kickstarts, etc, simply won't boot. Just a blank screen, and it never goes anywhere. So I'm trying to build it from a year-old regular installer. 100% of the time, the graphical screen is screwed. Resolution's so big that I cannot see the right-hand 10% or 15% of the screen. There

Setting up PDC w/ LDAP
I've almost got it. I swear I've almost got it (and I've been doing a lot of swearing lately). I re-built my PDC, starting from scratch. I'm not using the editposix extensions anymore - I'm using the smbldap tools as shown (I think) in the Samba by Example. I really really thought I did everything right. Obviously I was wrong. What works - all my workstations and
