Cdrom drives for Linux

Redhat Linux and Samba crashing
...f somebody out there has a similar setup to me, I would love to know if the above batch file works/fails on their system. It's really driving me nuts and I can't think of anything else to try. Samba corrupting files
Hi all, We use samba here at our site as an interop solution for use with ClearCase. I'm afraid I'm just a lowly ClearCase administrator not a Unix administrator. Problems with Self extracting zip files
Hi folks, I have a curious problem when executing self extracting zip files from a samba share. Everything does work, but it is very very slow. Copying the .exe onto local disk (from the samba share) takes no time at all (500kb/sec). I would say it takes about 10 times as long to unzip when run directly from the samba share. Funny caching problem
Hi folks, I am experiencing a strange problem with 1.9.18p7 on FreeBSD 2.2.2. When I access files from the [homes] share, my Win95 client seems to be caching the files, and not realising that the files may have changed. For example, I can load a simple text file (from the [homes] share) into Codewright on the Win95 client. Then I edit the same file using vi on the samba server, and write out
