Complex question concerning samba/networks
...only thing I havent tried yet is an smbmount but I suspect
that will work as well and doesnt resolve why this doesnt show
up in the Network Neighborhood.
This isnt critical but it is an itch, what am I missing. I know
I could just re-IP the machine but now I am curious.

Authentication failure question.
...installed.
I do not employ smbpasswd or a usermap, and I can duplicate this on
all of my samba machines (4) with 2 Win95 clients.
This is just an itch not a problem.

Dis-heartening observation
I have been on this list off and on for a year and a half to two years,
while I am not a full-dummy, just a partial dummy, why cant I get a

Configuration woes corrected
Well after I tried it the ./configure on all machines ( 4 total)
I ran a few other compiles of other programs and figured out
what was missing. Evidently the RH62 kernel "forgets" to
put a symlink from /usr/src/linux/include/asm-i386 --> asm.
I put that in and presto ./configure creates the Makefile
and I am compiling 2.0.7Pre2 as we speak.
What keyed this was trying a kernel compile,
