* The ToS specifically forbids use for any call relating to medical,
financial, or government matters -- as well as any "important" call.
So I'm violating my contract if I call to make a doctor appointment

* Then there's the NDA: People are specifically prohibited from
telling anyone that they use VoipJet, including "end users". Also,
we can't tell people what we pay for it, even though the prices are
right there on their website.
This one really bothers me. I feel it is an undue restriction on...

atheros chips dangerous?
Hello,
Possibly some of you will have read the news about "Hijacking a
Macbook in 60 Seconds or Less"[1]. At this time I was searching
a wireless card for my server and I wonder how this can affect
to the combination FreeBSD+ath(4).
The ath_hal page states that FreeBSD use a binary driver and
I think it is located in this file[2].
Unlike OpenBSD which affirms that they have

The box did not come with a media containing source code and did not
include a GPL written offer.
So I asked Auralic to provide the source code for all GPlv2 and v3
packages used.
For the Linux kernel and their modifications, they asked to sign an
NDA, which is clearly forbidden by the GPL.
For Samba 3.6.23 which they use, they have no intentions to release
the source, as they also have already stated on computeraudiophile.com
that they only share the kernel, nothing else:

Downsides:
1) They want you to sign an NDA before they'll discuss the methods

angers me, actually - does anyone actually have a clue how many

For example (under a guest Virtual Vmware) the networking card is an AMD

We need to create specials drivers for Xen?
why Xen can''t do that?

Allegations regarding OpenBSD IPSEC

Interesting...I wonder what is the impact of all this on FreeBSD code.
We may very well suppose that any government or corporation funded code
can theoretically have some kind of backdoor inside.

Drivers for FORE systems cards under FreeBSD
...-----------------------
Note: This posting is somewhat commercial in nature.
FORE Systems is interested in enabling an ATM driver for FreeBSD.
For the unfamiliar, FORE Systems supports the widest range of
platforms/busses (EISA, PCI relevant to the PCs for example) for ATM
adapters for various standard physical media (OC3, Taxi, UTP). Please see
below for more information about the company and for contact information.
Towards this end we are willing to make the ATM Adaptation Layer Interface
(AALI) specification available to the public via various information
servers (ftp, www etc.).

What's the best practice to protect rails code in a small company?
Hi fellows,
I''m starting a small company developing a SNS website and we are using
RoR. The concern we have right now is that we don''t want each of our
developers get the entire Rails code base of our project.
To my knowledge, there might be three pieces of ideas of potential
technical solutions for us. But since I don''t really have any so
called industrial experience

The test that Thomas referred to on the ATLAS list is at:

The note said that MKL 5.1 beta was not compared because of NDA on the beta.
Since the one I downloaded is not beta, and there are no NDA clause in the
license, I suppose I won't be sued for posting the following comparison.
For n=1000, 10000, and 100000, x is matrix(runif(n*100), n, 100). y is

...nd a good (and, ideally, cheap -- we don't really want any

number of simultaneous incoming calls (to the same, single DID)?
Many of the providers I've tried contacting either won't call me back,
or want me to sign an NDA just to get a rate quote, or some other
bullshit. Most of the providers whose rates are plainly posted on their
website have a limit of at most 4 or 6 simultaneous calls, which is not
likely to be enough for the application I'm considering.
You can reply off-list or on-list, as you prefer....

CDR_Oracle anybody?
Hi;
I've been playing around with various report writers on the cdr_mysql
table and I'm getting rather irritated. I started a thread a couple
weeks ago on "Billing Fun" and got a lot of good responses on how to get
an up-to-date copy of the NDA/NXX database, which I managed to retrieve
and bring into MySQL in a script from the various pieces of code people
posted... very nice.
After going into this preopinionated from a "php perspective" of MySQL
as a really great tool, by now I'm experiencing the sinking feeling of
being...

Closed Source Releases (Ekk a LGPL problem)
Hi every one,
I have an unfortunate need to release a closed source BeOS media codec
for Vorbis, basically I'm using headers under an NDA so I can't release
them.
(Yeah I know closed source boo hiss).
So I have a couple of question about what I need to do for all this
to be above board.
I've made no changes to the libraries so thats not a problem.
As far as I can see as 'linking a "work that uses the Library&qu...

Yes, I looked into that.
I hope I'm not treading on digium's

I think that by using a higher level

to avoid the NDA and licence issues
that intel/dialogic imposed on the low level drivers.
Thats what we have done on the gjtapi project, but I had a major dance getting the threading right

Iframe shenanigans
Here''s my problem. Unfortunately I have the need to load up fully
qualified html documents
into my page. (think tens of thousands of mini sites). I also have the
need to be as handicap accessible as possible. (So ajax is essentially

The unfortunate part
is that I have navigation menus that appear over
