Hello Everyone, For the past few days I have been working on porting asterisk to the win32 platform using Cygwin. Asterisk is already capable of being loaded itself, but the modules are presenting a problem. On Windows a DLL can not access any functions of the program it was loaded from, which asterisk modules like to do. I have however come up with a crazy idea of turning asterisk into a DLL

Is it possible to do live backups of a running DB with rsync??? I was just talking to livevault.com & they (only on win boxes) say they can grab changes from a client's live DB & sync them remotely. It sounded like BS to me, but I'm neither a DB guy or sync'ing expert. Steve Mallett

Dear Asterisk Group. I have two Asterisk servers serving two data/help desk centers, both centers have a near identical setup. However, when connected to one of my data centers, I call a user, I can see on the CLI that the phone is ringing, but I hear no ringing on my SIP soft phone? Has anyone had a similar scenario? Before I play around with this again in 1.2.1, regexten is still essentially broken, correct? The misconception seems to be that it allows you to execute a command upon registration from a SIP UA. Even the O'Reilly TFOT book erroneously states that this is what it is for. After reading the developer discussion though, it definitely seems to be broken. Is it fixed yet? Doug.

My problem is that DTMF tones are not being recognized when calling the IPKall phone number. Calling my server via FWD and IAXTel works out fine however. When rsyncing over ssh my retrieval will pooch out when there's an iso image introduced. I'm not terribly interested in monitoring files and don't care much if I do download these. Is there something I'm missing to allow files of this size to transfer??? Steve Mallett
