Failed to modify SPNs
Hello, I've got some log entries like these on our DCs: Failed to modify SPNs on CN=db1,CN=Computers,DC=mydom,DC=lan: acl: spn validation failed for spn[TERMSRV/DB1.MYDOM] uac[0x1000] account[db1$] hostname[(null)] nbname[mydom] ntds[(null)] forest[mydom.lan] domain[mydom.lan] At first I thought it was about missing SPN entries, but adding these did not resolve the problem: # samba-tool

Adam, you already tried my suggestions? What do you see here: > Failed to modify SPNs on CN=SEC-CON03,CN=Computers,DC=domain,DC=com: > acl: spn validation failed for ... ^^^^^^ So read the links below and post your results The event id you showed, for now can be ignored. Inrelevant (for now). And mostlikly wil disapear when you added/fixed the "correct" spn's On

Hello everyone, I wrote an email a couple of days ago, but haven't received an answer yet. Perhaps it was a bit confusing, so I'll try again. How can I make sure that NetBIOS name lookups work in the config file? I mean the %m macro. What is the command I can test it with? Because I have a feeling that this macro works only sometimes. For example I have a setting of log file =

GPO issues - getting SYSVOL cleaned up again
Good morning Stefan. Your welkom. I see everything worked out now. Great !! Well done, you made it happen. :-) What i suggest now, at least these are the steps i always do to make sure the DC's are having a exact same setup. First, i clear all my logs and reboot one server. Wait 15-30 min, then go through all you logs, fix every warning/error. Make it perfect. Reboot again, repeat

Hai, Any windows event ID's related to this? These might be handy. I suggest you read : http://www.scomgod.com/?p=155 On the SQL server, to add the SPN, use: setspn ?A <SPN> <Account> Example: setspn -A MSSQLSvc/SCMVPSCOM01.test.COM:1433 TEST\SVCACCOUNT Does the SQL server has an A and PTR record in the DNS? Do verify that. And there is bit more explained .

iptables on samba in AD native
Hello Samba group, I have setup iptables on a Samba-3.0.8 member server (with one IP) in a native mode Active Directory domain. Searching Samba list archives directs me to read http;//www.netfilter.org documentation and doesn't attempt to describe ports needed for samba to function as a member server in native AD. I would appreciate any constructive feedback regarding whether these
