version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libpthread.so.0
I just installed EMC PowerPath 5.0.0 and Navisphere Agent and CLI on a
CentOS 4.4/x86_64 system. When I try to start naviagent, I get the error
below. Before upgrading to CentOS4.4, this same system had RHEL3 ES for
x86_64 on it, and the same problem was encountered. I spent weeks going
back and forth with EMC tech support, but the problem was never
resolved. I'm hoping someone here on this

CentOS and EMC PowerPath/Naviagent
Is anyone using CentOS 4.4 with an EMC Clariion SAN?
In particular, I want to know if PowerPath and Naviagent will work on a
CentOS 4 system connected to a san using Qlogic or Emulex cards. I tried
a couple years ago with Fedora Core 1 or 2, and couldn't get the kernel
modules from PowerPath to work since the kernel wasn't the official RHEL
one.

Runaway processes on Solaris
Hi Jerry and crew,
Our solaris 2.8 machine running Samba 2.2.8a ran out of swap. The Sun
engineer sent us the following which seemed to point to Samba. Have you
seen something like this before?
Thanks,

Reading PDF files
Hi:
I need to do text mining on PDF files. I understand there is a readPDF
command in tm that can be used. Have read the 2008 posts on converting
PDF files to text by Tony Breyal and others.
Wondering if the procedure has been standardized in any tutorial or
otherwise? Being new to R, I was able to follow only part of the
discussion.
Any way to get a set of step by step instructions
