KVNO of Exported Keytab out of Sync
Hi All, This is my first post, and I'm new to Samba... I'm working on a Squid project running on RHEL5.3. Samba v 3.4.5-42 x86 and have run into a problem. I use Kerberos authentication on my Squid box. After configuring Squid I joined my RH to my AD domain and then used Samba to generate a Keytab and add an HTTP SPN to it: - export KRB5_KTNAME=FILE:/etc/squid/HTTP.keytab - net ads

net join & DNS
Is there an option to the net command to not have it update DNS in AD? We are joining servers using the net ads join command and it's changing our static DNS entries to dynamic ones which then get deleted when AD does its DNS scavenging. It seems that dynamically updating DNS is the default. The command we're running is: net ads join -U adminuser%adminpasswd Thanks - Mike Mike

recurring error in log.samba . . .
Thanks to various contributors on the Samba List (particularly Rowland, Marc & Andrew), I have successfully configured a Samba AD DC on Ubuntu 14.04 from scratch and joined my Windows 2008 R2 Servers. However, I have had a recurring error from the beginning -- [2015/04/30 05:06:31.194379, 0] ../source4/smbd/server.c:370(binary_smbd_main) samba version 4.1.6-Ubuntu started.

No subject
You are paying a price for it. Yes if your sound card has a onboard mixer alsa supports hardware acceleration of audio mixing there will be almost no cpu load at all. Soft disabling pulseaudio also nastly fails on non hardware mixing cards. No matter how much I have asked the developer of pulseaudio to enable auto starting of dmix or a warning that no mixing is provided he has flatly refused to do either. So effectively left with a crippled audio setup if your card does not have hardware audio mix...

MultipleUsersOnConnection, WTSE
There is a new regedit file in Samba 2.0.6 for Windows Terminal Server Edition that sets a MultipleUsersOnConnection value to 1. I can't find any documentation about this regedit in the source package or using a search of the Samba website. In Micro$oft's knowledgebase articles Q190162, Q233082, Q231798 and Q191370, it would appear that the value should be set to 0 rather than 1 for the

mfcr2 stuck
Hello I'm using mfcr2 support (unicall) in asterisk 1.4. Everything is working fine, asterisk can answer calls. But after some random period of time mfcr2 module stuck. When I make a call to my * box I can hear only signal of getting caller ID ("tritirirti" - like jumping on :) ) and connection is terminated by my telecom operator. When everything I ok after few seconds of this

Optim function with multivariate inputs
Hi, I have function that I want to optimize. Am playing with the optim() function in R Two issues: 1) I can't seem to get it to work with a function that takes multiple inputs. Dummy Example: myFunc <- function(A,B,D,D){ # Do stuff return E } > myFunc(1,2,3,4) [1] 12 # works fine from command line > optim( par=c(1,2,3,4), fn=myFunc) Error in A+B : 'B' is missing

bsd-snprintf.c and NeXT.
I'm wonder if anyone happens to have a simplier (slower) version of bsd-snprintf.c. It seems NeXT 3.3 (unsure about 4.2) is missing mprotect(). If I could get something to replace that for a while and fix some of theses utmp in login.c issues I may have a rough port NeXT to black hardware.=) Thanks

Samba 3.0.10 join domain
I have found a fixed my previous problems (two typos that were hard to find) and now the smbldap-tools all work as expected if I run them as root. However when I try to join a domain from a windows machine, the scripts never run and get an "Access is denied message". Since I am using 0.10 I do not think I can use net rpc rights, so do I need to add that into ldap manually? Or do I
