foreach loops, iteration, in functions?
...structures (in regards to
parent dirs). With that said, I was thinking that it might be helpful
to do something such as this:
class dir_tree {
mkdir { "/var/repo/subdir": owner => root }
mkdir { "/var/repo/subdir2": owner => root }
mkdir { "/mnt/nas/nas01" }
mkdir { "/mnt/nas/nas02" }

lock problem on 32 bit mounted nfs with 64 bit lock offsets
Hello list,
I've got a problem concerning locking of files with a share on a nfs
mounted NAS.
samba server is 2.2.8a installed from SuSE-RPMs
the NAS is mounted with following line in fstab:
<IP-Number>:/vgroup00/data02/data /mnt/nas01 nfs
rsize=8192,wsize=8192,soft 0 0
I tried to save a file from word which lead to a aprox. 1 minute hang of
my Win2k/SP3. The log of the machine showed following lines:
[2003/11/11 10:20:36, 0] locking/posix.c:posix_fcntl_lock(657)

Hello everyone,
I have a FreeNAS server (9.10 running samba 4.3.11-GIT-UNKNOWN) that's recently
started emitting this error:
gss_accept_sec_context failed with [ Miscellaneous failure (see text):

I've looked at bug 12262 [1], which is why I've cc'd Stefan Metzmacher.
I don't think this is is the same as that bug, and I will explain why.
I've looked at a lot of mailing list/forum posts, and the...

Can only connect to Samba thru IP, not FQDN
...AS 0.7RC1 with Samba 3.0.34. It's joined to my windows AD,
and I can see all users, and etc.
My XP clients don't have any issues connecting using either FQDN or IP,
while my vista clients suffer from the problem that if I try to connect to
the NAS by entering the following address: "\\nas01.domain.com", it keeps
asking me for username and password, no matter what combinations I try
(DOMAIN\username , username at domain, username, etc..).
Now if I try to connect to Samba using this address format:
"\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx", it successfully connects, without asking for any
user...

Can this be done?
...dz1 anyway.
Or, perhaps I could add tank #2 as a raidz2, and then move all the
data off tank #1, and then add disks individually from tank #1 until I
have all 14 disks in a single raidz2? Performance is not an absolute
must - I can deal with a little bit of overhead.
Thanks in advance.
