smbclient -L <nameofserver>
Hi everyone
I have set up Samba and am running through diagnosis testing and when I enter the above command on my Linux box it automatically asks me for a password.
If I <return> ie null password session setup fails
If I enter 'the password that I am logged on as' i get setup session not started NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
relevant lines in my smb.conf which i think may be affecting

WinXP. Ugh.
I'm sitting here tonight trying to get WinXP to map a printer on a Samba share.
First off, one thing I find disturbing is that XP seems to be aware of
Samba servers. When I open a window to one, it says on the window bar
"Samba 2.0.7 (nameofserver)" *shudder*.
Anywho.
I'm trying to map to a printer, and it seems to take forever and a week to
come up. I've managed to map our HP4550N and our Canon iR600 (tho it always
says it's "paused"), but our HP8150DN is just being a PITA. I've sat here
for over 20 min...

Mounting a windows share
How can I mount a windows share on a sun machine. I am also not able to find
out the smbmount on that machine.

Inconsistent Connection
Hi!
I am just curious if someone has experience this before. I have a Linux acting
as a samba server and then have Windows 2000 and Windows XP workstations. When
users log in, everyone can see other computers. However, when they try to
connect to other machines, sometimes they may connect in, sometimes they will
get error message "The system cannot find message text for message number 0x%1
