Playing flac files from external hard drive
Hi,
Many thanks for this! I was looking for an inexpensive solution, and a Nokia
tablet is too expensive for me. I was hoping for a cheap mp3 player with a
USB connection, but thanks for the advice anyway.

Color in console
Hey all. I have a color-capable console (color ls works, and I can run
any color-smart program like naim and bitchX), but for some reason the
color in the console for asterisk, whether started with -c or
safe_asterisk, isn't working for me.
Any ideas as to why?
I don't think it's my termcap, although I could post that if y'all really
wanted it.
Asterisk was built, and is

Object-oriented programming (OOP)
Hello everybody, please excuse my bad English. I am Alfredo Naime and
I'm from to Venezuela.
I want to make a lib with tools for simulation (queues, inventories,
factory, etc.) using object-oriented programming (OOP).
You have any manuals on the handling of data types, classes,
inheritance, etc. in R with examples and how to make a R lib.
Thank you, very m...

Playing flac files from external hard drive
Hello,
I have a 500GB external hard drive with a lot of music in flac format. I
would like to find a way to play music directly from the drive through a
portable player. I do not own a portable player at the moment and intend to
buy one that can support the above requirement.
What I don't want to do is copy files across and remove them every time I
want to listen to music.
Is there a way to

Beginer
Hi!
I just installed R on my computer, and I don't manage to run the function acf (autocovariance and autocorrelation function). It says me that this function is unknown. However, the standard functions like cos or read.table are OK. Can someone help me please?
Thanks a lot.

Playing flac files from external hard drive
Hi Kerry,
Thanks for the detailed information. I have seen some mp3 players that claim
to play flac, so I think that this is not a problem any longer. My disk is
formatted to FAT32 because in the past I tried to access it through some
backwards Windows system and had to make sure it could be read by it.
The only problem remains accessing the data through a USB connection,
because the disk is

Installing R-packages in Windows Using Rtools - compilation error when <signal.h> included in C header
Hi all,
I have been attempting to find a resolution to this problem but could
not to any avail. I am attempting to install an R-package from source
in windows that depends on underlying C-code.? I should mention that
this error is not found when installing this package from source in
Linux or Mac.? To do this I have installed R-tools 2.11 and was
successfully able to use R and basic unix commands

Muti-layer deployment process
I couldn''t find the answer in previous posts (hope I didn''t miss it).
I have a muti-layer deployment process in which a given deployment depends
on previous deployments.
How can I know when the fist deployment is finished so I can carry on to
the next one?
How can I know what is the success rate (assuming multiple nodes
deployments)?
For example if I want to deploy a web

Is there any way to tell what level the flac was encoded at?
Hi,
I'm developing a flac decoder in an embedded environment. I have it fully up and running but I am trying to optimise the performance vs. the power it takes to decode the stream.
Using the reference decoder code with a few optimisations for the hw I'm on I experience quite a difference in mips depending on the level.
For instance, on a 192kHz/24 bit file the difference is almost

HSBC Banking
Hi,
This is a long shot, but does anyone have HSBC Internet banking working
with Centos-4?
Various fragments on other lists suggests that it works with Konqueror
but not for me. :-(
Thanks

SELinux niggle
Hi,
I am not very experienced with SELinux and I have a problem which I
can't track down. Any help would be really appreciated.
I have an 'install everything' Centos 4.2 system which I am using as a
workstation. Before anyone tells me off for installing everything, I
have done this in order to get used to CentOS before using it on live
servers.
Anyway when I log into X (gnome, gdm)

rpm question
Hi everyone,
I am writing a small tool that will compare a file on my machine with
the the same file on an rpm repository and then give me a diff.
E.g.
# rpm-file-diff /etc/samba/smb.conf
will show a diff output so that I can see at a glance what changes I
have made to my local smb.conf file. I already know about rpmdiff but
that compares whole packages and not files.
Anyway while fiddling
