Nagios based on David Schmitt's Complete Config : variables are empty

As far as I understand, the problem comes from :

Conditional with variable from facter
Hi.
I have the following facts available:
# facter | grep oper
operatingsystem => CentOS
operatingsystemrelease => 6.2
Now, if I wish to use conditionals on these facts, I have to do it like
this:
case $operatingsystem {}
case $::operatingsystemrelease {}
I''m puzzled as to why can''t I just use $operatingsystemrelease, and what
do these two semicolons mean?

notify defined in exported resource won't work?
Hi all,
I noticed a "service notify" defined inside of exported resource won''t work.
For example, I have the following exported resource defined:
define host($ip = $fqdn, $short_alias = $fqdn) {
@@file {
"$nagios_cfgdir/${name}_host.cfg":
ensure => present, content => template( "nagios/host.erb" ),
mode => 644, owner => root, group => root,
notify => Service [nagios],
tag => ''nagios''
}
}
This creates the file fine...
