I'm new to wine and suse 8.1.
I d/l the most current wine version for suse8.1 = 200303.. and rpmed it.

Does anybody you know why? I had tried it first and it seemed to work
but rpm -q showed the same date!
I now have doubts on all the other rpm patches/updates ...
The win3.1 program is special purpose

Samba3 - small lan [2] - fstab & smbfstab

desktop.
/etc/fstab - when I put the share definitions in /fstab the
icons appear [unmounted] on the desktop.
I am not clear why the /etc/samba/smbfstab is not working.
Can you help?

Samba3 - small lan [1]
...t' names?
b. Should the names of the partitions [/mnt/data, etc.] remain
the same
or must they be changed?
3. Are there other test functions which I could use to find out
what the
problems are?
I would appreciate some help as the lan is not functional.
Thanks

wine-win3.1 program in SuSE8.2 - help
...16Mutex" wait timed out,
retrying (60 sec) tid=0009
I then went into the wine config file and activated one of the debug
lines and ran the program again. There was a huge amount of data which I
cannot submit.
I would appreciate some pointers on how to proceed.

...#39; machine - so there could not be
a confusion in the name.
I have now gone back to the original same titles for both machines and
will work with basic smbconfig files rather than let Suse's Yast
determine the file, which I did initially.
Thanks again for your comments.

small lan - 2 solved
...; in the global section as
opposed to the share section of the smb.config.
I had the , obviously mistaken belief, that if something appeared in the
global section it would apply to all [global+shares].
What does the expression do when placed in global and not in a share?
Thanks

loss of cups printer definition - suse linux pro 9.1 & samba 3.0.9-2.6-suse - small lan
...t /etc/cups/ was empty!
Re-installing the printer function in Yast2 did not do any good.
Is this a result of the samba lan? or some other interaction of the
systems?
Has anybody experienced this problem?
Any ideas and suggestions.
If yes could you share your experience?
Thanks
