Losing hope.
Is it normal for rsync 2.5.5 to keep locking up on large HP/UX 11.0 files?
I am not talking about a delay here, but locking up and never returning
w/error. Anybody have any suggestions?

Rsync and files larger than 2 GB in size on HP-UX 64bit
Hello,
I read the suggestion posted on this list about
adding -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE to build rsync, but
it does not work correctly on my platform
which is an: 9000/800/N4000-55 with 64bit hp-ux using
HP's C compiler (B3901BA)
i solved the problem by building rsync as a 64 bit
application:
CFLAGS='+O3 +DD64' ./configure --prefix=/opt/rsync
could you please add this flag to configure if
getconf KERNEL_BITS returns 64

Rsync locking up. HP/UX 11.0
...bit file support seems to be working fine.
2) When transferring files >2 gigabytes rsync will occasionally hang at
random points in the file. And never return from the hang to produce an
error. Though some files >2 gigabytes work fine.
My systems:
*) local and remote servers are 8-way N4000 (440mhz) fibre attached to
EMC symmetrix arrays.
*) HP/UX 11.0 , rsync 2.5.5
*) I am not using ssh and rsync. From what I read in the archives this
has caused problems in the past w/hpux.
*) my command line: rsync -azvv --progress <directory>/<files>

HP-UX and Samba 3.0
Has anyone sucessfully compiled Samba 3 on HP-UX?
I have had no luck so far. The LDFLAG that it uses, I believe -g, but I'd
have to look, is not supported.
