rsync over ssh fails with --files-from

The "errs" for ens18 are steadily increasing, but the "drop" column is
steady. It's also curious the errors on loopback would also be increasing?
Other ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex

How can I troubleshoot this? I'm pretty sure the clock settings are
correct from within Windows, but when the VM resumes from the host
sleeping, the clock is off by some seemingly random number of hours.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Using postscreen_dnsbl_reply_map
...59429: 550 5.7.1 Service unavailable; client [199.182.172.6] blocked by rbl, see http://multirbl.valli.org;
and as tip, take fail2ban and let it monitor for "blocked by rbl"
and you reduces your dns queries also a lot.

Clock skew on Win10
Hi,
I'm having a problem with significant clock skew on fedora29 with
qemu-system-x86-3.0.0 and ibvirt-daemon-kvm-4.7.0. This is on my
desktop and appears to happen between suspends of the host each night.
It appears like the time just stops while the guest is suspended, of
course, but then doesn't update once the guest is resumed.
I'm pretty sure time is configured correctly on the

Re: Slow network performance issues
Is the rsync a first copy or are you overwriting a previous copy. How fast is the transfer rate with scp?

ADFS support?
Hi,
Is it possible to query an Exchange server for its user list via ADFS
using samba?
I'm interested in integrating this support with postfix on my fedora
system instead of having to maintain the list in Exchange and the list
as a map in postfix.
I really don't know much about Exchange and whether/how this would
work. Is it secure?
Is LDAPS an alternative? Is it secure?
Thanks,
Alex

Dovecot with sasl/imaps/postfix and thunderbird
Hi,
I have an fc18 system with postfix and dovecot-2.1.13 and have
configured them to use sasl for SMTP Auth and Maildir with imaps.
The system is running now, so I'm trying to set up thunderbird to
autodetect all settings during the initial account setup. However, it
seems to want to use port 143 and STARTTLS, and not port 993, which is
what I would expect. When I force it to use 993, I

Slow network performance issues
Hi,
I have a fedora21 system that's been running fine under normal network
activity, but trying to perform a full backup of the 300GB filesystem is
taking forever because the network speed appears to be very slow.
Using rsync, the transfer speeds reach a max of like 180kB/s. Using
rsync to copy files on the local filesystem is greater than 55MB/s, so I
don't think it's a disk

Trying to track down source of duplicate messages
Hi,
I have a fedora28 system with dovecot-2.3.5 and I'm trying to figure
out why I'm increasingly receiving duplicate emails. The message IDs
are exactly the same. It's always two of the same messages. I don't
think it's ever occurred in the inbox. It doesn't happen with every
message or seemingly in every folder.
I've read about dovecot deduplicate, but of course I

Yes, I do know it refers to the list of local files.
There is no error - it just hangs indefinitely until some timeout period.
This is what it looks like on the remote side:

virt-install and kickstart networking
Hi,
I have a fedora22 host and trying to use virt-install to install a
fedora22 guest. The host is configured with bridge networking, using
eth0 as its local interface.
It appears the guest is communicating on vnet0 instead of eth0, so it
can never reach the outside to download the install files.
Where is vnet0 configured? Is it set by default when a bridge is created?
I have one other guest on

Controlling IP addresses for services
Hi,
I'm using dovecot-2.2.15 on fedora21 and would like to configure pop3s
and imaps to only listen on localhost and internal addresses.
It seems the listen= parameter only supports ports, not IP addresses.
Is it possible to control which IPs the services listen on?
I'm also interested in knowing the differences between pop3-login and
just the pop3 service? Same with imap-login and imap?

Creating IMAP folders/subfolders with Thunderbird
Hi,
I have dovecot-2.2.15 on fedora21 with Thunderbird and having some
difficulty creating subfolders and deleting folders.
Creating subfolders results in a folder at the root with a caret instead
of a slash called folder^subfolder with an entry in .subscriptions with
that name, instead of a new folder under the directory.
I'm also unable to delete any folders. The command from within

How do I troubleshoot this? Any idea what could be causing it?

Shared folders using mbox format
Hi,
I'd like to create a shared folder to be used with an Outlook client
and a Thunderbird client. We're currently using mboxes.
I've read the documentation here about creating a shared folder:
https://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared
It doesn't make reference to how to do this using mbox format. Is it
possible? Should we convert to Maildir? Perhaps there's a way to
