If anyone has any idea on how to do this that would be great! Thanks Hannah -------------- next

extremely low performance on Samba 4.2.14-Debian
Hai, Ok, so you have 3 the same machines and only one is slow. Thats important info. Did anything special happen with this server. For example 2 servers got a new install and this one had an upgrade (or sort of upgrade) from the "old" server? Or you configured the new server in an other (ad site) and moved it to the new location. In tring to figure out, where what happend, so we

This old tune again : read performance optimisations
Hi list, I have this problem of (relatively) poor samba read performance. Read performance is constantly, reproducibly lower than write performance and I can't really understand why. Here is the server configuration : dual octocore Opteron 6128, 32 GB RAM Adaptec 6445 RAID card 36x 2TB Hitachi SATA drives (raid 60) Sustained local disk throughput: over 850 MB/s write, over 1.4 GB/s read.

throughput of 300MB/s
Hello, are there any experiences with samba as a _really_ fast server? Assuming if the filesystem and network is fast enough, has anyone managed to get a throughput in samba of of let's say 300 MB/s ? Are there any benchmarks? regards, Martin

Trying to build ices-0.4 on ubuntu and "libshout not usable"
Hello: I hope someone can take a look at this and give me a little push to get me past this logjam. I've been running icecast + ices-0.4 + a perl application developed internally which runs an mp3 stream for a number of years. I am migrating my server from CentOS to ubuntu so I can upgrade to Perl 5.18 (so as to get clean unicode processing for another application.) I have installed

UNDI-3.1 support in pxelinux?
HPA et al.: Are there any plans for pxelinux to support UNDI-3.1, as defined in UEFI-2.1, appendix E? I ask because I was dismayed to see EFI systems successfully download pxelinux, only to have pxelinux exit. This was a major downer after implementing an debugging an entire EFI "UNDI" driver. Scanning pxelinux.asm, I conclude that pxelinux supports only UNDI-2.1 at the moment.
