%d ignored from auth-passwdfile.conf.ext configuration file
I try to configure dovecot with virtual users. I put my users file in
folder /etc/dovecot/my_domain_name/users.
My auth-passwdfile.conf.ext file looks like this:
passdb {
driver = passwd-file
args = username_format=%n /etc/dovecot/%d/users
}
When I try to log in, I get this:
dovecot: auth: Error:
passwd-file(test,some.ip.addr.here,<rQT+ziijGE1tpoAB>):

w2k, adding printers and other questions.
...e to the
printers? I used to have a [Printer] share defined with a path... but
testparm warned that since no path was defined for the printer shares
that it would use /tmp instead.
Also, with winbind, is it sufficient to use myNTuser when specifying
printer admin? Or do I need something like MY_DOMAIN_NAME+myNTuser ?
I'm getting a lot of these errors in winbindd.log:
[2002/07/17 12:21:39, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_user.c:winbindd_getpwnam(120)
user 'nobody' does not exist
In smbusers I have: nobody = guest pcguest smbguest. How can I resolve
this issue?

Migrating a samba PDC to a new one
...anning to promote it
later), but it's not allowing any windows box to connect as anyone
except root - just asks for username and password repeatedly. I did this
from scratch by setting up the smb.conf file to say (with a few added
comments):
<snip>
netbios name = charlotte
workgroup = MY_DOMAIN_NAME
server string = My New BDC (charlotte)
passdb backend = tdbsam
security = user
# password server = antonia # This is the old PDC. Commented out
right now.
encrypt passwords = yes
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd # Not used?
local master = yes
os level = 40 # OS Level is set to 60 on old P...

...ng process of samba
(nmbd & smbd). But it works, I had the message "Joined
domain Domain_name". But it is supposed to create a
file called "Domain_name.Machine_name.mac" and it
didn't create it. Here are some important parameter of
my smb.conf file:
[global]
workgroup = My_domain_name
security = domain
password server = *
encrypted passwords = YES
After I did all that, I still no able to see my samba
server in the correct domain. If I do a search
computer in an NT machine, I can see my samba_server,
but if I go thru the "network neighborhood" in
windows, I cannot see...

Hi,
I'm using a small network with one unix server and one
Win2k Pro client. I wanted to know if it is possible
to be able to browse via the network neigborhood to
see my unix server. Because I can't get it to work. Do
I need Win2k server edition? If I do:
c:> net view /domain:my_domain_name, I didn't see my
server in there, nor do I when I go thru the network
neigborhood in windows. I can only access it when I do
a "find computer". It found it in my_domain_name (that
is, the right domain). Does somebody did it with win2k
Pro?
Here is some of my configuration:
